I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

The main character of the movie (Sorowitsch) is pretty much a carbon copy (although, under very different circumstances) of the character Gerd Wiesler from The Lives of Others. A stiff and talented guy, driven entirely by his internal, well structured (logical) and pragmatic rules, whose life circumstances start to show him the shallowness and meaningless of an existence based on indifference and strict obedience to his code. Through love/affection (Fe) he manages to set a meaningful goal in his life (Ni), satisfying his deep internal motivations.

You don't seem to understand the difference between behavior and motivation. Types are about motivation; behavior is developed over time from life experience and not always directly linked to one's type.

yeah, maybe that's why I'm so bad at typing *puzzled*; I don't think you understand that external action is a manifestation of a person's "need" to have a certain environment.
