    Default Best typer?

I am just wondering which type is the best at typing people?

My assumption is that intuition is the best tool for typing people.
I'm interested how do you go about typing people. How sensors do it? You go to a person and ask him questions?
Describe your method for typing, and mention what is your base function.

edit: I just realized "typer" might not be the right word. Is it typist? ... can't change topic name now

yes. this worries me because I do it a lot. I hope this is just a nature of my base function , otherwise I have big problems with delusion/illusion.

I thought intutives are better because they see patterns... and sensors don't as much.
And I just realized sensors could be better at visual identification thing.

If sensors are better connected to reality; surely therefore they would be better at typing? *wiggles eyebrows*

    Just playing devils advocate.

I think you should read up on sensing and intuition to help avoid an impending massacre.

LII and EII. Because sensory types are too busy reading and making certain realistic assumptions about the person at hand instead of incorporating information into a reliable system and from there picking a type that best fits that person.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

You don't get what argumentum ad populum is. Argumentum ad populum is a fallacy that concludes a proposition to be true because many or most people believe it. I was not insisting that Jim is ILI because 5 people type him so. Jim's type wasn't even the topic of this discussion. I mentioned that there are others who type him as ILI after poli said that I am the only one.

I think you might be an optimist, for I never try to reason with people who lack the basic ability to understand.

Lungs is just playing the role of that really annoying neighbour that butts into their neighbours disputes with their own grudges. People who don't think in reasonable terms often find the majority of their actions dictated by observation and rote. Monkey see, monkey do.

A typer types people. A typist types words.

I don't know about type, but around here I consider Ashton the best typer, then woofl, then polikujm.

As a sensor, yes, I ask people questions. Sometimes I force people to type themselves.

Welcome, Darkworker! And to answer your question, as a sensor, I admit that Ni intuitives seem to be better typers, at least on the internet. Ne typists seem to have generally more trouble narrowing down possibilities. But I consider @Ashton, @Fireyed, @k0rpsy, and @Gilly, all different Ni egos, to be excellent, accurate typers.

On a related note, the other introverted perceptive function, Si, I feel I can use well in person. I can almost literally 'feel' a person, based on their body movements, gestures, facial expressions, and can read what they're thinking, feeling, experiencing, etc. After a few interactions with someone, I usually feel extremely confident in determining their type.

i tend to take @k0rpsy, @Ashton, and @Radio the most seriously but i think that's a combination of them being reliable and the fact that i talk to them enough to know where they're coming from with stuff most of the time. @Gilly and @strrrng also seem legit from what i've seen, otoh (but now i'm sure i'm missing people). so mostly ni egos.

I don't really see anything about Ni that makes for better typers, not to mention I don't see Gilly, Expat or niffweed exhibiting any sort of Ni. I've trusted @Ashton, @eunice and @Galen the most with their typings, two of which are Ne types and just as thoughtful as if they were Ni.
