Obviously there's a lot of mainstream media cover-up/sniping here and it's so endemic that the truth will never fully emerge. But I want to know if there are many stories about this internationally, and if you've heard about this, what elements did the story focus on?

• who at the BBC knew what about it and when
• why the incoming CEO at the NYT has given conflicting accounts of his knowledge concerning BBC investigations into Savile's predation of children
• how fucked up and corrupt the government of Jersey is
• interviews with a number of women who allege they were sexually molested by Savile as children
• Savile's private quarters at children's hospitals where he's said to have committed his misdeeds
• how many people knew rumors of Savile's behavior or even heard him boast of being immune from prosecution
• how the millions of pounds his charity work provided made authorities at the various hospitals look the other way
• how the British crown and the Vatican are moving to strip Savile of the knighthoods they conferred upon him
• how his gaudy £4000 tombstone was removed and crushed by his family
• the fact that around 300 molestation victims have come forward against Savile bearing remarkably consistent accounts of being assaulted that corroborate one another

Given Savile's connections with the queen mum, Charles & Diana, and Margaret Thatcher it's also likely he'd been vetted by the crown's intelligence agencies, who must have known about the police and media investigations against him that had been snuffed, making for a very bizarre story indeed.

Srs bsns. I'm not a fan of the BBC or the way charities are treated in the UK; hopefully this will help to banish the extreme optimism that seems to be in place regarding their societal impact and hopefully the victims will eventually get some semblance of justice.

I forgot to list suspicions of Savile's post mortem incest with his mother and other possible instances of necrophilia such as at Haut de la Garenne. Just fucking weird.

So no other suspects have been brought up? Because there are others guilty of not just keeping silent, but abuse too. Blackmail is the glue that keeps these establishments together don't forget. Savile is now a useful decoy.

Gary Glitter was just arrested and apparently 15 or so celebs have approached the police to talk about their possible legal culpability for fucking groupies of a certain age back in the 60s and 70s. This whole thing only began like two weeks ago so it'll be some months of cases being prepared before prosecutions begin. My expectation is that a few expendables in the lower echelons will be made to fall on their swords and the rest will remain free, much like with Abu Gharaib.
