Yes we designed the test. Most people have appeared to get accurate results. Did you retake the test? This is exactly the kind of feedback we are looking for. We are currently coding an intelligent, adaptive test, hopefully it will be up on the site soon.

If you will retake the test I am interested to see if the result is the same or different Thank you for your input!

    Welcome!

Your test gave me IEI, which I am not (I'm EII, actually). Some of the questions are a bit troublesome, to be honest. For example, these two choices:

Very stable, calm and well balanced.

    Casual, relaxed and go-with-the-flow.
Taking the test again (and getting my proper type), this seems to be the question that tips the scales. As an IJ, I do value stability to a fair degree (especially in terms of relationships and location). However, that doesn't mean I am a "calm, stable, and well balanced" person. I am a person with a baseline-calm energy level who is quite reactive and prone to getting frazzled/throwing minor tantrums when stuff doesn't go the way I think it should (I tend to joke that my electronics would have low self-esteem if they were sentient, as I swear at them constantly). As I've said on another forum: I am not EII because the IJ temperament description fits me; I am EII because I am base (and creative, obviously).

The short version: not everyone will fit temperament stereotypes, so they're not completely reliable for typing purposes.

    Also, this one:

When exploring a new location, I notice:

Procedures, structure, rules, prices and the hierarchy of people involved.

People's emotional content and how they communicate among one another, the aura or energy of the place.
    General reactions:
    * Neither. Now what the hell am I supposed to put? I can't advance in the test without choosing something.
    * Why am I exploring a new location? If I am somewhere new, it's probably to do something or go somewhere, not to check out the scenery, look at the pecking order, or observe the people around me. If it's particularly loud and bustling, I may not want to stay there any longer than I must; but I consider that to be a somewhat intrusive perception - one that blasts its way into my field of perception, which is currently focused on something else - not a perception I am seeking out. I'm probably off in lala land or focused on what I want to do or where I want to go.

Overall, your test focuses largely on dichotomies, with seemingly little-to-no focus on quadras or IM elements. The same questions are used to distinguish SEI and IEI from ESI and EII; to prove it, I can rig the test to give me SEI by choosing "Calm, relaxed, and go-with-the-flow" and then choosing Sensor-like answers when I would have chosen Intuitive. I would suggest fine-tuning it quite a bit.

We've heard before that some of the questions are too difficult to decide. We have all new questions that we are putting into our new test model. The TP questions were omitted in the new vehicle as well. This is extremely helpful information to us, thank you!

    Hi, and welcome.

    I have just questions please.

Um...why do you pick a quote for your signature? What does it mean to you? Is it some idea you live by?
    -
    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I took the test twice with some changes and received my kindred and business relations rather than my type.

Quote Originally Posted by kantripdj View Post

That's because several of them present false dichotomies. One example:

Which is easier for you to understand?
The relationships between people and within yourself.
Circumstances and conditions of the natural world outside of human society.

It's quite obvious that the first answer pertains to an ethical orientation and the second to a logical disposition, yet nothing precludes evaluation of human experience in an analytical manner, nor rationalization of natural law from a spiritual perspective. That is, we have SF philosophers, NT artists, NF scientists, and so on, and no type is restricted to a strictly demarcated domain of topical interests. So this question can become unanswerable if the respondent possesses a mentality, experiences, and knowledge of sufficient nuance, breadth, and multidimensionality to defy simple stereotypical categorization.

Similar issues and poor grammar mar the clarity of other questions, which can produce unfortunate confusion from a test apparently designed as an introduction for novices.

i took it again, leaving the ones i was sure about the same and changing my answers to the ones that were more iffy and ambiguous, and got iei this time. the conflictor to my first score. haha. basically, a lot of the questions could go either way for me.

If we've learned anything from Maritsa it's that true Empaths only ask questions when, with didactic benevolence, they've prepared an enlightening answer in advance. Thus we smile in peaceful contentment, secure in the knowledge that with your query having been made you will grace us with truth soon enough.

No, I'm not LII. I could explain, but I don't see that its necessary. The actual constructive responses are much appreciated, and even the spiteful retorts are welcome as well. I'm sure there's a whole lot more of both to come in the future.

I know lots of people and I prefer to know a few people really well to knowing many people only a little bit.
I prefer reading to hiking because the former doesn't make my feet dirty.

I got ESE. Maybe because I have a lot of acquaintances. But that's still pretty weird, since I don't think I selected any feeling options over thinking ones.

I'm not sure if you're serious or not.

he has composure and he doesn't get butthurt easily, I like it. I wonder if he actually intends to hang around or if he's just here to advertise his site.

also to k dude I tried it the site but it was so confusing I gave up. I couldn't even tell what the purpose was. is there some kind of main/about section? I can't remember. its really snazzy and futuristic like but maybe at the expense of being easy to navigate.

His friend Ben handles the butthurt on his behalf. Also it's hardly like he's received much scrutiny or abuse.

I just don't get the mentality of a guy who comes here out of nowhere, claims to be whatever type, and declines when asked to substantiate it, especially when he's advertising a socionics site of his own and should hopefully know what he's talking about.

Also I got ISFp on the test. Oops.
