Default Why do people see me as alpha?

I haven't posted in alpha for ages...

Joy made a poll about what quadra I am and the results surprised me a lot. There is an equal about of people who think I might be alpha or gamma. I had been thinking that I'm either beta or gamma, so the result "alpha" really confused me. I did identify with the INTj description for a long time, but I'm too loud and obnoxious to be and INTj.

Do you guys think I might actually be alpha? If yes, then why?

hahhaha... It was ok when I said that about myself. When you say it, it sounds somewhat offencive.

    > If I really had Fe, I wouldn't have a problem with always pissing people off with being blunt and having too little tact. Showing emotions that I don't feel or hiding emotions that I do feel are both very hard for me. Extremely exhausting and it makes me feel somehow numb.

Someone smart correct me if I'm mistake:
In MBTI, introversion is about how how sociable the person is. How much he interacts with others and how much he needs it.
In socionics, introversion is about the program function being self-sustained. It doesn't need the to exchange information with the surroundings. Feeling functions influence this, because they are almost by definition interaction-functions, so introverts with a feeling function in ego block will need interactions with other people, either his first function is introverted or extroverted. But thinking introverted types can spend a long time with only their own thoughts. They can gather information without needing to share it with other people. blablabla... I know there are differences between "introversion" in MBTI and socionics.

people associate Ti with categorical statements. I think people think you are alpha because of this. of course Ti is not just alpha, nor is a categorical statement always misinformed or whatever. its just that time of year when alpha is not popular.

    Ti would explain it, yes.
I wouldn't mind being in alpha. At least you alphas generally post a lot. I just think that many of my weaknesses are listed as alpha quadra values and this makes me seriously doubt that I belong here.

    not necessarily.

brain activity is characterized by the flow of neurons, of which carbohydrates have little to do. it actually is more influenced by the intake of salts which produce +1 ions such as sodium and potassium, and of protein intake which indirectly allows for the construction of brain cells.

Brain cells can only use glucose for energy (ATP production). Glucose will be obtained from either fat or carbohydrates.

There has to be salts, but without the energy, the brain can't do anything.

    adenosine triphosphate?

now why would brain cells need something like that?

yes, fair point. glucose will do something.

Now fess up! Have you studied biology (more than just high school) or have you been a curious INTp interested in the principles of life?

PS! I made sure that I wasn't full of BS, and looked it up (source):
At rest, the metabolism of the brain accounts for 15% the total metabolism of the body even though the brain weights roughly 2% the mass of the body. This means that brain metabolism is about 7.5 times higher than the average for the rest of the body. This energy glutton is satiated mainly by glucose, glucose is brain food and the brain depends on the blood supply for its constant stream of sugar. Unlike muscle cells, the brain has a very small buffer reserve of glucose, stored in the form of glycogen. Ceteris parabis (all things being equal) cut off the supply of glucose in the blood and the brain will survive for less than 2 minutes.

nope. i just find ways to apply whatever has been taught to me.

however, my high school knowledge of biology may be equivalent to some forms of college biology, as clearly demonstrated here.

meh, that's probably not very informative.

I don't actually *believe* that you're INTj. I was pretty much just teasing. I don't know you well enough to have much of an opinion on the matter. From what I have read, TiNe sounds more accurate, but as I said... I wouldn't really know.

Well, I wouldn't be so strict on typos as a rule; however, the para prefix has absolutely another meaning than pari as used in paribus.

Para can be roughly translated into "not enough". For example, paranoia is composed by the aforementiones prefix, and noia, which means "relax"; from this combination stems the "lack of relax" which is paranoia.

Pari, on the other hand, means equal.

    Ok, I indulged a bit
