Default Typing Music - LSS Conference Notes

People in attendance got to practice typing music using these criteria:

    Introversion - Extroversion

Ego - Superego - Superid (as per Freud)

    Static - Dynamic

    Rational - Irrational

    IE represented, if any.
    Reason is a whore.

    Olga gave us two examples:

This song is Rational, Extraverted, Dynamic and Ego.

    Rational: Fairly constant energy output.

Extraverted: Lots of energy outputted. Blaring its message.

Dynamic: Various shades of emotion expressed, internal changeability, various sides of the situation expressed.

Ego: Very self-centered view of a situation, focus on one's own emotions, somehwat tragic outlook (superid would be more happy and child-like.)

Rational: even emotional tone, steady output.

    Introverted: low energy output

    Static: Focused

Superego: Focus on issues bigger than the self, duty.

After this attendants were asked to choose their favourite song of all times to be interpreted with this method. Alas no one chose a rap song. @attendants: do post your selections and their interpretations.

Please post your favourite song(s) (2 selections max) for interpretation and practice. Please spoiler so those unlucky in internet speeds will feel like opening this thread too.

I used to love this song and I would totally get carried away with it when I was a teenager.
    It's difficult to say...maybe irrational?

Another song that I'd love to be typed. I think the artist was gamma>delta T type.

This seems to be on the right track in terms of seeking an analytical perspective, but the problem with these kinds of approaches is that too often they fail to take a step back and check if their operational definitions are really getting at the essence of the type concepts they're seeking to model.

Many composers are loud and blaring in one piece, but soft-spoken in another. Does that mean that they switched personality? Or, going away from the music arena for a moment, do extraverts not speak softly sometimes? Is it unheard of for introverts to proclaim their view loudly? Do these switches in vocal dynamic level necessarily mean a change in Socionic functional perspective? And if someone does both, does that make the person is a dynamic type as opposed to static?

On the contrary, it seems to me that one could possibly be soft in an extraverted way, or loud in an introverted way, or in other words, how far the volume knob is cranked up doesn't get to the essence of the type IMO.
