Default End of the Assad Regime

    It's in the cards.

Putin was propping it up. However, Assad has been unable to contain the rebellion and now, has become an embarrassment. Thus Putin, never one to concern himself with the fortunes of people he is not personally engaged with, is now playing the humanitarian argument as an exit card.

Assad will probably go down Hitler-style: to the last breath and only after firing his very last bullet. He won't be the butcher Saddam was: chemical weapons are just too ghastly for a politician such as he. No, he'll just succumb to his own "human weakness" and unleash a canister of biological agents in one -- or two -- of those restive provinces. That'll be the catalyst for a massive aerial bombardment on Syria's military, which may well result in Assad's demise.

It's highly probable he'll be assassinated before it gets to that, however.

I don't really follow politics. Can't add much. I do not think that anybody here is very political. This is a very apolitical forum. Try www.freerepublic.com - I dare you. I want to see how long before they ban you!!! Freepers Zot~!!!

I consider myself to be a conservative, however, I cannot last even two days on Freerepublic without being banned as a "crazy liberal troll" - I cannot understand freepers. They are baffling, backwards, bigoted. It would be great to have tcaulding troll there. I'd love to watch it.

I predict that everything will stay the same and nobody's gonna do something about it.

Actually, from what I know the situation is the opposite: Syria is being destabilized from the outside and rebels are mostly mercenaries with little popular support. I doubt Assad will fall any time soon.
