Tifa seems like an introvert, IMO. Gamma SF and IEI are the only types I can see for her. I used to think SEI, but she's not really Alpha.

The thing about Cloud as ISTP is, he's Fe crazy. His whole delusion is all about how other people see him, feeling rejected and unliked by others, seeking status by position in a hierarchy that proves his talents and establishes him as unique and elite, not to mention the lies he's told to be seen as better than he has been lead to see himself. Claaassssic Se valuing, Fe seeking Enneagram 3.

Scarlet as SLE makes sense.

Scarlet is like my favorite final fantasy 7 character. I love her bitchiness + her narcissistic red dress. She reminds me of Glory on Buffy too, another one of my favorite villains.

Btw, I would put Cloud as ISTj not SLE. Cloud was clearly introverted. I mean I guess I can see an SLE-Ti being a classical introvert but ISTj makes better sense to me. And that would make him duals with Aeris if you have her as enfj.

I like Tifa as IEI. All three of them feel like Betas, I remember feeling SOOO emotionally close to them when I was 14 years old. *love*

idk though, Cloud and Tifa seem like duals; Aeris was just a brief fantasy, Activity infatuation, but Tifa holds out for them the whole while and they end up together because they are an easy pairing and have always seen things from the same angle, plus the whole childhood love thing.

Indeed. She had to die. And Tifa is so integral, she's the subtle underline to the whole storyline, the constant observer; killing her would be crass and myopic.

My favorite boss was probably the gi nattak. I remember creating a screen name that was similar to that boss when I was 14. Something about me is like really attracted to the Undead. Like the whole concept of demons and zombies. Perhaps you can psychoanalyze me and tell me why.

He went with Aeris as a bodyguard simply because he wanted to and he helped destroy the Mako Reactors because he wanted to get paid, even though it pissed Barrett off. I know later on in the game when his identity is called into question, he doubts who he is and what he can do, but when this happens it isn't because he is unliked or because he cared whether people rejected him or not, or whether people saw him as having a high status, but because he wanted to like himself by seeing what amazing talent and expertise he is capable of.

No I can't agree. You're making him sound to be like this manly bad-ass with no feelings at all and this perfect Gary Stu (male version of Mary Sue).

(or maybe it was something else i can't remember exactly but he was definitely bullied as a child.) That's what motivated him to become stronger....but he still couldn't get in SOLDIER. And I remember him talking about how bad he felt for letting everybody down, so he had to lie to cover up his tracks.

He raised the bar for himself on a personal level, and maybe a bit for Tifa because he wanted to impress her, but not anyone else.

Dude, he lied to EVERYBODY that he made it to SOLDIER when he did not. Cloud was the typical introverted boy that plays video games really that's why he was a popular character and a lot of people related to him. He was strong but he still couldn't measure up to the jocks. So many gamer boys feel that way that's why he was so popular. =p

Cloud is the archetypal example of the part of us that wants so badly to be liked or respected or recognized in some way. He was a loner who the other kids teased, so he grew up wanting to be everything they couldn't, and he most likely fixated on Sephiroth because the guy was a huge hero, public figure, etc. Everyone looked up to and admired Sephiroth, and Cloud, being insignificant and lonely, thought in the most primitively rational part of his brain that being like Sephiroth would make people and, most important of all, Tifa like and admire him.

EIE isn't terrible for Rufus but i think LIE is better: he's pragmatic, materialistic, shrewd, opportunistic, and isn't concerned with high ideals or anything "unrealistic". he's always evaluating the usefulness and benefit of people's actions - more like a Te type. he's like a biting, ruthless variant of a LIE. however i believe he is humbled a bit after his near-death experience in FFVII, and as a result adopts more of a sense of responsibility to society, which i think is also LIE-like. (he is less ruthless in Advent Children than he was in FFVII and Before Crisis.)

This series seem Delta to the core. The character designs are off, I don't feel like it at all. Si/Ne pov of cuteness/coolness - everything look so clean, lack the darkness and roughness of Ni/Se.

Sephiroth look like real Beta ST here, not Cloud fake one...
