Default How do you use the Constructive/Like system?

The one this forum uses. It seems like some people use it seriously, some use it ironically, some do both, and some completely ignore it. I'd be interested to see what people think from a socionics perspective. Personally I think it's silly, I'll just leave a comment saying what I think, but I do like marking posts that I view as both funny and completely unrelated to socionics as constructive. It makes the joke even better to me.

I try to limit constructive for those posts that offer new info/ideas i hadn't considered/known that I find interesting. And likes for phrasing or jokes that i laughed at or cheered. Unfortunately, i sometimes mistake which one I'm clicking when I click too fast. So really it's rather random.

This does not mean that i interpret the constructive/likes in the same way I use them, though!

I like posts that I like. Constructive is reserved solely for the batshit crazy posts, ridiculously hilarious ones, and I guess the posts I learn something from or agree with intellectually. Also anything that Loki posts.

I like posts I like and hit constructive for posts I either super-like or I like and showed me new insight.

sometimes my phone browser twitches and I bump the buttons by accident so there are some randoms out there.

I hit like for ones that I relate to or make me laugh. I hit constructive for posts I think really contribute to the discussion. I usually only hit constructive for socionics-related posts.

I use it at whim. I usually forget, but sometimes I remember. Every blue moon I will use a like teasingly. The problem is that there is just so much else going on that I forget about details like those two clickies.

like: made me laugh, I agree, cool post, I saw what you did there, recognition that i have read a post directed at me
constructive: ironic "this helps", batshit crazy, something particularly useful or thought provoking, on topic response to a thread I started

kassie likes the same things that I like so often that I find myself feeling like I'm copying her when i go to like a post and see that she's already liked.

Yeah, I agree with the quote above.

Other than that, I also "like" posts to morally support members of the secret IRC party, especially when they argue against people who don't belong to our cult.

I said I liked one post yesterday. I think I might go back to ignoring the entire system again.

It would be fine if I could 'like' my own posts for their 'constructivity' seeing how I am the only one who knows what I am talking about.

lol I think trying to be sarcastic with the Constructive or Like feature is retarded. The person who gets the constructive is happy just for the attention, they don't give a shit that you're being negative and bitter. If you really don't like somebody's posts, just don't give them the time of day. At all. Whatsoever.

So THAT'S why I get like 3 kassie "Likes" a day...

...and here I was, thinking you thought I was all smart and cool and...and...

But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I guess I basically use it as it was intended. Sometimes I use "Constructive" ironically, but not for, say, a Maritsa post; more likely when CPig dishes on someone or Absurd posts a silly picture.

I use Constructive for posts that say what invokes new interpretations, guides the converersation or something everyone felt to be thinking but nobody could put it to words.
I also use it with sarcasm when someone starts an inane thread. Especially if it's cute.

Like is for posts I like. I also demonstrate acknowledging something I approve of or something I'm grateful of. It's like a giving a nod and/or smiling.

If someone showed me something I didn't know or understand - Like.
If someone showed me something I misunderstood in some way - Constructive.

    edit: This isn't true anymore.

In this forum, I use the constructive system and like system because I've finished read about other person opinion/statement/quote. Not because I agree with them, it's because I've finished read their statement, that's all. I did that in every forum I've visited.

I use it seriously and ironically. I like it. But I want a "disagree" button.

If a post helped me understand something better, I click constructive. I'm more profligate with likes. Anything that amuses me or even piques my interest briefly would be a candidate, but I'm not all that easily amused, so I dunno.

It's an interesting idea, but I think it's probably better to not have it, so when people disagree, they can add that as a comment and explain why they think differently. Otherwise it could get a bit hurtful and critical without that "constructive criticism" part which helps people improve. But then again, I hate conflict, so maybe I'm over-sensitive to that.

I pretty much do this. Except maybe I'm more easily amused.
