After having been amicably fired from the Ekpyrosos music thread, I decided to start my own.
Ill try to stay on a thematic on each post (copied Ekpyrosos on this). Expect Jazz, various electronics, french singers... Well known stuff, or not.

At the middle/end of 90's, jungle became more and more causual, losing his underground aspect and any link to jamaican soundsystem culture.
As a reaction to this, a new style developped on the break/jungle/drum scene, initiated by label like Emotif, no u-turn : the sound is characterized by use of classical jungle break, but often with harsh, glaucous ambiance and a more "techy sound", instead overused RNB, soul or jazz. Often sampling serie Z horror movie, Blade Runner, Robocop...

The style, called "techstep", have had a huge influence and became really famous on 2000-2009 years.
A branch of it, inherited from no u-turn song and classical jungle gone hard/dark (tech itch, evol intent, loxy, T.Z.A, donny, limewax...), while another part, who come more from a techstep evolution called "neurofunk" (perhaps the outstanding 5*LP "ed rush & optical - Wormhole" was the more influencial here), was more dancefloor oriented (well know Noisia, phace, spor, teebee, ed rush & optical, N-Phect, Rawtek...).

Imo, the most accomplished techstep tracks can be found on the famous "no u-turn LP 01", from ed rush, nico, trace and fierce. Thats one of my favorite electronic piece, all genre included : build up is strong, track are balanced, track mastering is simply epic (the melt between cold ambiance, "aerial" sound and hardness do perfectly the trick). And when reece sudenly happen on a amen break twister... thats the end of the world . Best are imo "Torque", "Droid", "Lo (not on youtube)", "Damn Son".

I tried determining the "theme" of your posts.

I've concluded that overall the only theme of your
thread here is that it's centered around music you
are partial to. Your individual posts are not thematic
with one another. Broadly speaking they exist parallel-ly.

Hey,
I try to stay somewhat on a theme on each post "independantly", not through all the thread. Theme can mean many things, like "approximately same type of sound", "same period", "kindred ambiance" (like the one with forgotten fish), or history about smth lol (the nutlp001 from last post).
Staying on a theme for this moment is more like "will not melt folk with hardcore", thats all, if I find some music on a precise theme that I like Ill do a post about that.

Do you knowed nico before this post ? cuz yes, this is a great musician imo, he often add a good vibe (almost a housy one) to records he produce with classical guys (ed rush, ect). If u have a great idea about whats a theme, plz dont hesitate to post. Thematic is Ni, I dont have
