Default Fe Ego and Reflecting Others' Feelings/Expectations

I have a habit of saying things that reflect how others feel, as if that's how I felt.

It's not deliberate or anything, it's just the most natural way for me to carry a conversation.

Sometimes when I look back on a conversation, I realize that I said things that were completely false, but I just didn't realize it at the time since I just say things that fit the conversation.

I wonder if this is an ego thing or something else.

Well I happen to know Feople, and Ashton and I have talked about them a few times so my experiences match up with what he says.

@OP: Yes, Fe egos tend to sense the emotional atmosphere of a situation, and aren't as adverse to trying to maintain good relations by saying things that aren't necessarily true (e.g. faking interest). That's why IEIs and SEIs are generally seen as easy to get along with, but to Fi-valuers, this behaviour can be seen as insincerity.

I may be wrong, but I think mature XEIs do this less, since it's also based partly on insecurity and trying to fit in.
    Well, I'd certainly agree.

I had to go through a blunt/disagreeable faze before I could find the proper balance, and I still have to think about it, but I at least know to stop when I genuinely am not interested. Works pretty well for people I dislike to just be blunt; you could say that's just being immature, but leading people on and being so insincere seems worse. I'm sure the middle ground will come in time.

But I still do it, especially when I am unsure of myself or in a new crowd. It just makes sense; learn the lingo, that sort of thing.

So I thought I was smart but I was really just talking to Feople. Way to go Reuben.
    She is wise
    beyond words
    beautiful within
    her soul
    brighter than
    the sun
    lovelier than
    love
    dreams larger
    than life
    and does not
    understand the
    meaning of no.
    Because everything
through her, and in her, is
    "Yes, it will be done."

How do I not know these things lol, when is enough studying enough!

Anyway, just an interesting thought here; this is also related to the 9 enneatype. Think I read that they alter their thoughts, beliefs, feelings, conversation etc. temporarily and base them off the other to achieve a nice balance and harmony between them and the other.
