    Default Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper invented "shock rock:" however, if you watch interviews with him, he's probably more normal than most people who frequent this forum.

Personally, I'm interested in what you think his Socionic type is. Here's a older interview with him, and underneath is a newer one:

    Talkin with Tom:
Alice Cooper - Tom Snyder interview part 1 - YouTube

In this (above) he talks about how he has 22 TVs. How he got the title for "School's Out." Why he talks about Alice in the 3rd person.

    Talkin with Behar:
Alice Cooper's Amazing Laugh - YouTube

In this he talks about Lady Gaga, how people tore apart a chicken at his show. His friendship with Frank Zappa is mentioned. (Zappa discovered him.)

I think he's an INTj, personally; however, it's a tentative opinion. What do you think?

    Nothin?!

Come on, give it a try!

He is friends with Ke$ha who sings on his new album, and in the 70s, was friends with John Lennon, Keith Moon and those rock stars, but also people like Groucho Marx and Mae West who saw him as "the last hope for vaudeville."

Personally, I think that he's an Alpha rational. His music has always drifted with the latest trends (up to today,) but he's never had a good grasp of how his audience would react to his experimentations. His sales have been very good and very bad, and some would argue, so has his music. (Personally, I like much of it -- even if it is silly.)

He was addicted to alcohol in the 70s and spent awhile in a sanitarium, about which he wrote an album.

Any guesses at all, educated or otherwise?

You already suggested LII so run with it. No one has paid attention to this dude since he wrote a few angry blog posts after 9/11.

What kind of answer is that..?

His album debuted in the top 25 of the Billboard charts this week, so I wouldn't say "no one is paying attention to this dude."

I heard his new album, liked most of it, and thus I became interested in his Socionic type.

I suggested a type, but I suggested that as a starting off point for discussion -- not so I can "run with it," you know? If I thought I knew his type for sure, I wouldn't make a thread about the guy. I'd just run with it in my own mind, you know?

In this case, I don't know his type. That's why I'm asking.

Alice Cooper is an interesting person, I think. The first shock rocker, an ex-alcoholic, friend of John Lennon, Groucho Marx, and Mae West among others. He's now a Christian and speaks about "Alice" in the third person... He's a great Socionic study, in my opinion, if one's willing to take some time.

Socionics.com had him listed as ENFp for a long while, for what that's worth.

Excuse my ignorance of buttrock. May Alice Cooper's collaboration with Ke$ha be as profitable as he and his handlers hope.

Ganin is a phrenologist so I'll answer him in like fashion by pointing out that Vincent Furnier looks in this photo like tcaud.

    LII it is.

Yeah, I had also read on one of the websites that he was EII, and the fact that I like him suggests that this is probably true. I sometimes hear him on the radio as the dj for 'nights with Alice Cooper.' A long time ago I even bought one of his albums, and I didn't normally buy 'heavy metal' music, so this was an unusual exception. However, if nobody had told me he was EII, I wouldn't have guessed it right away, just simply from not knowing what to look for.

    EP Type :

If you confine it, you're confining a whole thing. If you make it spontaneous, so that anything can happen, like we don't want to confine or restrict anything. What we can do, whatever we can let happen, you just let it happen.

Drinking beer is easy. Trashing your hotel room is easy. But being a Christian, that's a tough call. That's rebellion.

When we get together and rehearse, which is always living with each other, we always talk about what would make it better, what would mean more, what would say more. So we're always improving and growing.

Throughout my life, there are four people I've met who were truly original people. The other three were Groucho Marx, Jim Morrison, and Pablo Picasso.
Why be boring? Have some fun. Rock shows should be like movies: I don't go to a movie hoping it'll change my life.
