    Default Insolence

What are you thoughts on insolence? What acts or activities would you consider insolent, if any? Do you use the word insolent? What is your opinion of the quotation, "A statement of fact cannot be insolent"?
Not a rule, just a trend.

IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.

    Yes 'a ma'am that's pretty music...

I am grateful for the mystery of the soul, because without it, there could be no contemplation, except of the mysteries of divinity, which are far more dangerous to get wrong.

I don't think an act can be intrinsically insolent, as what constitutes insolence is largely determined by social custom. I'd say that an individual engages in an insolent act when he does not treat another person with adequate respect or deference, as deemed appropriate by social convention, thereby irritating the other person. According to this definition, statements of facts can be insolent -- "you're wrong", when said to one's social superior, might be a good example. I can't say I've heard anybody being called "insolent", though.

    First -- why?

    in·so·lent
    adjective
    1. boldly rude or disrespectful; contemptuously impertinent; insulting: an insolent reply.

not sure what to think about insolence. It is what it is.
Insolent acts are defined by social convention. I could give you specifc cases of what I personally think would be insolent, but that's boring.
I don't usually use the word unless I'm mocking some stereotypical villian-type
Any action can be insolent in the right (or, wrong) context. Making a statement whether factual or not is an action last I checked.
