I made a (now deleted) blog about Ti being native to Beta and it being about identity. Thus Beta Fe being the expression, preservation, and/or glorification of that identity.

If you just say Ni+Fe/Ti+Se, I wouldn't think it would be ludicrous to think so.

If Identity is whatever makes an entity definable and recognizable, in terms of possessing a set of qualities or characteristics that distinguish it from other entities, it would seem that all of the information elements play a role in the creation of identity. Se, for example, being the external statics of objects, would define a person's identity according to physical features such as height, weight, skin colour, etc. Ne, being the internal statics of objects, would define a person's identity by more abstract features such as personality, intelligence, or creative potential. Ti, as the external statics of relationships, would define identity by membership in a specific logical class or position within a system such as "human", "top of the food chain", "middle management", etc. Fi, as the internal statics of relationships, would define identity by the sentiment felt towards it, such as "well-liked friend", "untrusted adversary," "family member for whom I am responsible", etc.

The dynamic information elements would also help define identity, but in a less permanent way. Fe's internal dynamics of objects would distinguish people by mood and emotional state: "that guy over there who is happy", "that often melancholy person", "the person who is currently angry". Te's external dynamics of objects would distinguish people by their external activity: "That guy over there who is moving quickly," "that often unproductive person," "the person who is currently moving erratically". Si, as external dynamics of relationships, would identify things by the immediate physical effect they have on their surroundings, "the warming fire," "the soothing and cooling water," "the delicious cookie". And finally, Ni, being internal dynamics of relationships, would define things by their long-range and abstract influence on the world: "the poetry that stirs the hearts of generations," "the business decision that affects next quarter's returns," "the media which affects society as a whole", etc.

From what I can tell, the popular use of the word "identity" would tend to refer to a static element like Ne or Ti. But that may be due to my bias as a static type, I don't know. Either way, I'd say that Beta Ni is just as related to identity as any other information element.

Under your distorted understanding of socionics, yes, I imagine it would be.

I think I need to know what you mean by "Identity", if you mean "the expression, preservation, and/or glorification of that identity," then I can sort of understand that, especially as Beta being very extravagant in that way. But I think I agree with Krig, different functions, or maybe types, can have different conceptions of identity, so it depends what you mean.
