    Default Gilligan INTp? Mwahahahaha

    YAY! The type quest continues.

A few things before we continue:

-If you're going to be closed-minded and not take my case seriously or post negative, uninsightful comments, fuck off. I'm more than willing to hear other opinions, but they must be reasonable on some level and not simply negative.

-I'm not declaring anything, so don't get all defensive about it.

    Here's my case:

    NOT ENTp:

-Lack of ability to "find" Ne in myself
-I see no case for extroversion
    -Ni>Ne?

    INTp

-Introversion - having an "inner world" that is more readily available than my communication skills or ability to receive information from others
-Identification with many things that are observed as being Te (universal law, King of the Mountain argument style)
-Parts of functional analysis (Fi hidden agenda, unconscious Ne, perhaps Se dual seeking)
-Identification with Introversion, intuition, thinking, and perception
-Intertype relationships (re-typing of some friends, experiences with someone I have no doubt is an ESFp)
    -Rediscovering Gamma as a quadra
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Upon further reflection, this is barely conceivable.

What it really boils down to is this: I identify with Te, I can't find Ne, I'm convinced (atm) that I'm an introvert, and I know I'm an irrational.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I see Te as the collection of the various logical systems that I've cultivated and compared over the years. I think my Te sees all these logical systems, but sees one thing as absolute truth, something that I've been working on my whole life. I compare all of the systems of belief I have seen to one another, and ultimately size them up and predict whether they are "successful" or "useful" by comparing them to my one idea of ultimate "truth."

"... I see Introverted Thinking as based more in probability btw..."

    Ti merely makes webbed statements.

"If this, then that; if not this, then not that. But, if perhaps this and something else, then another thing entirely."

    The probability comes from Ne.
"To become is just like falling asleep. You never know exactly when it happens, the transition, the magic, and you think, if you could only recall that exact moment of crossing the line then you would understand everything; you would see it all"

"Angels dancing on the head of a pin dissolve into nothingness at the bedside of a dying child."

Like I said, none of these retarded negative comments. Go away, I don't care; you're cluttering my thread. I know you all think I'm ENTp, so unless you feel like making a case, you can steer clear of this thread.

Just another side note on how I see in myself: when I do, in fact, do work, I do everything in the most efficient and fastest manner possible. Also, when I'm in one place for any considerable amount of time, I do little things like memorize the fastest ways to get different places or where the lines for food are shortest, etc. Maybe this is just me being stupid, but it seems like it could be connected to Te.

I'm also relatively convinced that I'm an introvert; if I'm an Alpha NT, it's equally as likely that I'm INTj. However, as I've said, I'm beginning to see instances of Te in myself, and I'm rather sure of being an irrational.

same thoughts here! generally, you're an INTp without the polr. ENTps have exceptionally strong , too. my case is that i think an ESFp would eventually drive you insane and you'd do just great with a happy-go-lucky, artistic, sensual, kind ISFp.

This has two meanings. It could mean your an introvert because introverts are energized from within, however an dominant gets bored easily by almost anything.

Ah, well I am the same in this regard, where after being outgoing for an extended period, I do feel I need relaxation.

Okay this sounds introverted, however I've asked introverts this and not all enjoy flowing in with their own thoughts. However, maybe your an ENTp, logical subtype?

I'll leave this one unanswered, since I'm uncertain on this one.

This sounds introverted to me, since I feel that I need to express an idea, however a lot of thoughts that I end up not expressing. This is a tough one

I'll accept this as introversion because dominants such as I love being catalysts, unless that is exclusively ENFp.

Here are some questions to help find out the truth:

    1. Do you think before you speak all the time? (Writing doesn't count)
    2. Do you feel that the environment and objects energize you and are drawn to them?

Rick will most likely, at some point, come in an tell you all that I'm INFp. His previous insistance on my being EIE/IEI is yet another thing that makes me think Ni-dominant. However, I am largely convinced that I'm a thinking type, and will therefore stick with INTp for the sake of this thread.

I bolded all that apply to me. I have wondered in the past if I'm an introvert after all. I don't necessarily like being around people, I don't feel comfortable at large gatherings, I only want to be involved on my own terms, party small-talk is draining, I have been called quiet and shy. Only when I'm entirely comfortable with the people and the situation will you see a skipping, laughing, liking-to-be-center-of-attention Kim. I tend to think ENFps and ENTps have this in common. The and , but I'm too tired to explain now.

I think you are ENTp. You don't have the casual self-irony of an INTp. There are more INTp things that I don't see in you, so I'll add later.

Bullshit. I can convince myself that I'm everything when I'm alone. Introversion and Extraversion is totally noticeable around other people, instead. I would bet a zillion dollars that, if you ask some IRL people "Do you think I am introvert or extravert?" they'll say something on the line "AHAHAHAHA HOW CAN YOU THINK YOU ARE INTROVERT??" just like happened to me. Get some external feedback, YOUR thoughts on this issue are meaningless.

I don't have any particular opinion about your type, Gilligan, and I haven't followed this thread very thoroughly. But it is a very certain fact that I am an INTp myself, so maybe what I say could have some worth to it.

One thing that caught my interest was this little thing:

    1) external stimulation (anything outside of my own thoughts) bores me quickly
It is the word "bores" that is interesting here. I could say something like that about myself too, but I probably would not in most cases. External stimulation is something that actually is often necessary to get me going, but external stimuli does often have a physiologically negative effect on me. So, I think it would be more accurate to say that it is often stressful, not boring.

One the other hand, an ENTp friend of mine, whose type I am also 100 % certain of, is actually more inclined than me to say that external stimulation bores him. Many of the things you list could as well fit an ENTp, but not to the same degree the thing I just mentioned about external stimulation being stressful.

An introvert like me need to shut the external world out now and then. That is an absolute physical need, more so than a psychological need. An extraverted intuitive type has not the same physical need to shut the external world out, but he or she might get bored with other people's stupidity or narrow-mindedness. Well, that is just something to reflect upon.

But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,

I'm not going to argue your type because I have no idea, but I will say that I wouldn't disagree with Rick on this matter.

    It's a possibility.

if your mom is ESTj and you are INFp, it would make sense that you are having a hard time figuring out what type you are

Well, she's decidedly ESTj, just as I am decidedly ENTp.
