    Default Comedians

Let's try to decipher which type these individuals are and which types are the funniest. I encourage others to post pictures and links to their acts of their favourite comedians.

The wonderful and crazy Andy Kaufman!

To me, Andy appears like a definite ENFP from his actions I saw in the movie.

    The amazing voice-expert Pablo Francisco!

Pablo's a tougher one to type, I get an ENXP vibe from him or ENTP if I have to be specific. I'm open to other types.

Here is a short clip of possibly his funniest act:

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...ablo+Francisco

    The hilariously brave Russell Peters!

Another tough one, I lean toward ESXP for Russell or ESFP if I had to choose. I'll consider other types as well.

Here is a long clip of one of his most famous acts:

I'm not sure about the other two, but I remember seeing a clip of Pablo Francisco about softcore porn. He did seem ENTp there.

I saw the Jim Carrey movie of Andy Kaufman. Exxp. I was thinking of ENFp, but I wouldn't have dared to be the first to say it because the guy was nuts! Totally insane!

Pablo Fransisco is good at what he does, but he has very little stage presence. He looks like an introverted guy who went on the stage to prove himself something. I'm not saying he's not funny. His movie-trailer jokes were classic! But most of his material sucked. He could be ENTp.

    haven't watched Russell Peters yet.

Yeah, Andy is an insane individual but it kind of reminds me of myself when I'm in a manic mood. Of course, his insanity was limited to the public.

I agree that Pablo Francisco's new material is terrible, however he still managed to make it hilarious and I guess that demonstrates how much of a talented comedian he is.

It is strange, but I have the belief that the majority of comedians are EXXPs, is that possible?

ENTj is the stereotypical stand-up comedian. Te dominant with Fe role fits the bill perfectly.

    However...

    This looks rather ENFp.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Looks more like an ESTp to me.

    Peters could be an ENTj.

Yeah, I think almost everybody can agree that Andy Kaufman is an ENFp. I agree ENTj's do make excellent comedians and it is probable that Pablo is an ESTp, I had considered that too though I'd like to hear your argument for it. I'm not sure about Russel Peters, he strikes me more as a sensor, since his comedy is more reality based rather than fantasy based.

I know this man is a talk show host, but I consider them comedians to an extent. Host of Late Late Night Show Conan O'Brien, strikes me as a definite ENTj.

Jim Carrey is described as another prime example of the ENTj comedian.

Funny.. I always got an ENxP vibe from Carrey..

Conan doesn't seem extraverted, and he seems stuck up: INTx. In MBTI, I would definitely say he comes across as an INTJ.

    Russell Peters = ENTp.

The Indian youth of Canada are apparently in love with the guy. My cousins in Toronto wouldn't shut up about him the other day. I watched, laughed a little at his jokes, laughed a lot at his impressions.

He could possibly be ENTp, however I'm unsure because he said that every story he told on stage had really happened, which is strange for an dominant. In interview he described that the process he acquires his impressions is by repeating sounds of an accent repeatedly until it starts to create a distinct hilarious sound. Is this ? What function would this be attributed to or at all?

    Default Comedians

When looking at humor, you would expect some types to better with it then others, although it is very difficult to claim that a certain type has the least humor. Since everybody likes a laugh.

But ofcourse some are better with making jokes, inventing jokes etc.

What types do you commonly see in the average comedian (cabaret etc)?

I used to think ENTP's are great at it, but I might be wrong...

Stand up comedians are probably ESTP, since they usually already play the role of standup comedian in their spare time.

For freaking sake listen to yourselves.

Everyone has a different sense of humor.

My favorites are > Pablo Francisco : Chris Rock : Frank Caliendo : Bob Marley : Brian Regan and Bill Baily.

Yes I once saw an introvert as a standup comedian. He just didn't seem natural at ease.

Therefor I wondered, maybe some types are more attracted and more in their element to standup performance.

I thought I was about the material not how comfortable the comedian was on stage.

Comedy can't be boiled down to just material, just presentation, just charisma.. It's a combination of those things and more. It's pretty hard to explain.

My favorites are Richard Pryor, Dave Chappelle, and Pablo Francisco.

    Bill Hicks
    Richard Pryor
    George Carlin
    are my favoritest standups.

    Bill Bryson
    Douglas Adams
    Terry Pratchett
    are the rollickin'-est authors.

John Cleese was my favorite Monty Python-er.

At least the authors and Monty Python I would guess as Alpha; the standup guys, though, have a bit too much bite. Not sure what any of their individual types are.

I have enjoyed GW Bush the past 8 years, although he fucked up last Tuesday by saying "I have six words to say". For a moment I he was going to miscount, but alas...

I'm gonna miss him, Obama just isn't going to be the same...
