Pretty accurate, I guess. Pragmatism and synthesis should be a bit higher and would've been if I weren't forced to rank the questions.

    55 - Synthesist
    61 - Idealist
    54 - Pragmatist
    51 - Analyst
    49 - Realist

    Thumbs up

    50 synthesist
    36 idealist
    64 pragmatist
    60 analyst
    60 realist

Nice find, Ashton, I may spend some time on this. From reading the descriptions you posted, I would have predicted my idealist score to be higher and my analyst score lower.

Here's a pdf on the subject (good info tables):
    http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/ac...f/golian99.pdf

Another document from the first page of google (nice simple explanations, maybe too simple):
    http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...U3K3jw&cad=rja

Reading these links, however, indicates that my idealist score is rightfully low. I don’t know if I can pick out a real preference among my top three scores, I exhibit several qualities from each.

Synthesist: Some of the behavioral queues are true of me. I debate hypotheticals often. In group situations, if one point of view is too strongly represented I may choose to argue the other, just to keep things even.
Idealist: The only thing that really describes me here is an emphasis on the big picture and lack of attention to detail.
Pragmatist: I really agree with “Whatever works” statement. Occasionally my solutions seem convoluted to my peers, but they work, and that’s the important thing. I disagree somewhat with the quick solution nature of the pragmatist. If anything, I am more than willing to spend a long time solving a problem - I would rather solve it perfectly now than waste time resolving it later. Most of the rest of the description fits me, except my social skills aren’t as good as the typical pragmatist (I‘m good in some situations though).
Analyst: I do seek “best” answer solutions. Most of the descriptors are true of me. I am not a planned, orderly person, however. Except my sleep schedule, and even that is up for debate.
Realist: Again, mostly true. I don’t think I’m as direct as the realist is predicted to be. I have been told that when I talk about things, I sound 100% sure of myself, as if I can’t be wrong. This isn’t true, mostly I feel the opposite. I may seem more of a Realist than I actually am. Empirical data is important, but what appears true isn’t necessarily true - it is important to gather all of the data.

Neat idea, mostly accurate, might be useful in group work. I may force my next group to take this test.

I'd actually say Im a synthesist over a pragmatist....
