Thread: Any chance I'm LSI?

    Default Any chance I'm LSI?

Yes, really. Now I know many of you think ESE fits fine. But Beta ST fit well too. And I'm tough to type because of personality masking, I think I can come across as several different types. Some people are still typing me SEE or LSE! Every quadra... Anyway. Before I make my argument, here are some more LSI-looking photos of me, when I'm focused/concentrating, or at rest. Not directly interacting with others per say. More my default expression.

*edit* 3-17-2012, removed the pictures for VI.

And I know, it's annoying to be somewhat unsure again, when I thought I had it figured out. But don't some of these basic descriptions fit?:

Their heads are firmly fixed squarely to their shoulders and are practically immovable. Their necks appear to be inflexible so when they turn their head their shoulders usually follow. Their facial expressions are somewhat unemotional and show great concentration.
I believe the physical description fits me.

I don't wear a mustache because 1) I don't grow much facial hair and 2) blonde mustaches don't look great anyway.

Also fits, and I change direction very quickly.

They often have a large compendium of jokes and anecdotes. Males often use this arsenal to charm females, usually behaving very gallantly, successfully playing role of the gentleman. They are often the life and soul of the party. They enjoy singing with little more than a guitar for accompaniment and often in a romantic style.
This is probably what comes across to others as Fe. When I'm in a good mood, and charming, it can come across ESE-ish.

They try to work everything out in depth and down to the last detail. ISTjs are very realistic people. They are not supporters of unproved ideas or theories and will hesitate in undertaking uncertain projects. They believe that everything should be prepared carefully and accurately.
I very much take my time getting things right, especially paperwork, and can be very meticulous. And I loathe when others are late, and I'm waiting for them.

This. I was always a model student.

Many others on this forum, 16types, have pointed out this tendency of mine. Here's just one example:

C'mon, how many people have I pissed off here for 'advising' too much? Honestly.

IRL, happens a lot, my being too informative, or being overly helpful.

I've been called excessively paranoid MANY TIMES. IRL and on here. I do feel unconfident in relationships. I thought Fi made sense as an ignoring function, but as a Role function, it could fit too.

I could go on, but enough boring quoting. I do collect reference material, find it hard to throw away anything informational, and like to master my subjects of interest. Pretty much the whole description fits me.

Anyway. Rather than just post a "yes" or "no" about my being LSI, since people think I'm all kinds of things could you do me a favor and just post a % likelihood? Like: "I think there's an 80% chance MD is LSI." Or, "Nah, maybe only a 10% chance." Or something like that. Would be more helpful, thanks.

If you think you're LSI, it's almost definitely because you're ESE

Labcoat (your Dual) unearthed a goldmine with the Taciturn/Narrator cycles, and you're in the middle of an EII and LSI sandwich, as I am with IEI and SLI - this is very consistent with my experiences, especially when with musicians (I go SLI when with them, an Ne-ILE and an Si-SEI, though it usually stops when the IEI is added to the mix, which happens occasionally)...

Also, you're my Quasi-identical, not my Supervisor

LSI? No way if your actual personality is anything like your 'online persona', you seem very extrovert. How about SEE, did you already discard this option? Not that I had some good arguments, but LSI would be Se-valuing, too.

although i appreciate the vote of confidence, i don't really recommend anyone who is in a state of type confusion to orient by experimental material like that.

Everyone can see a bit of themselves in many type description - the Forer Efffect. It will happen more so with some descriptions than others, but be careful reading a type description and thinking it sounds like you.

I just noticed you do the same thing with it like Aleksei, this Ti thing. Same approach, I can be wrong though, but one thing I'm sure of is, I'm not a priest and I don't skateboard.

Well I tend to think of Enneagram types more reflexively than Socionics even, so it's just sort of natural for me to offer an opinion. What do you mean "this Ti thing?"

It is random for you, for you don't know the reason. Never say things without a reason, so it looks like two guys conversing about some thing, the former talking about some event, the latter having no prior knowledge about it.

What do you mean "this Ti thing?"
It is involuntary I guess. Aleksei does the same thing, that is, he walks in, types one 8w9-5w4-6w7 so/sx/sp/so even though one decided on some E-type already.

    Better ?

It's not involuntary. I still dont see why it's Ti, and I still don't see how it's like Alexei other than because he gives enneagram types along with Socionics types.

Mountain Dew, I don't get any ESE vibes from you, from either your posts or your pictures, nor Si-creative in general... You being LSI is also a longshot for me. I would be surprised if you're not SEE, and you look so much like an SEE grade school friend of mine too.

Hmmm...I'm beginning to question ESE, your looks give me more of the "cautious" vibe that I usually get from Fi valuers.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I didn't. It was suggested by someone else. Not everyone agrees with ESE.

A small group of people thought I was too friendly and Alpha-ish to be SLE, saying ESE instead. That group continued to grow, and I got tired of arguing against it, so I decided just to go with it, and see what people thought.

Haha not quite, European yes. 25% Irish and 25% Romanian from my father's side, and then a mix of German/English/Native American Indian from my mother's side.

Yeah, it still hasn't left me, I remember the switch. But it's been a while since and the SLE typing kind of just faded in the background like it never happened.
