History is vastly less amenable to reductionism than math is. Even Arnold J. Toynbee's "A Study of History" runs on for 12 volumes despite its pronounced focus (compared to the likes of Herodotus, Gibbon, Durant, et. al.) on essential structural features of civilizations rather than their influential names, dates, and events. So your rough analysis of David Clemens's critique is apt. And unless Br'er Khan betakes himself to improve the detail, scope, and complexity of his history lessons he'd serve education best by sticking with logic and numbers.
