This sounds like it would have to do more with general self-awareness than it does with age, although I'm sure the two have some sort of positive correlation about them. I wouldn't say that being at any specific age group means you "put on" different types, although the sense of self at around this time isn't all that hardened. Plus, how you understand who you are is going to morph as time goes on (up until around 30, or so I've heard). If anything kids around that age will put on different personas in terms of cliques or interests, but faking something as deep as sociotype doesn't seem all that possible.

That's not real Socionics, it's bogus: a theory made by people who don't understand Model A, praising each other for recognition. They all claim "modern socionics" before starting to bullshit .

Based on the Model, while the Ego "develops", the Super-Ego follows, as the other two blocks. Ego Ne *is* Super-Ego Se, it is Super-Id Si and it is Id Ni - all at once. The blocks are not separate entities, but different aspects of the same thing.

One of the problems in Socionics is that there seems to be a lack of controlled studies that can qualify as scientific research. In other fields, we can hear reports about research and generally assume that the fields are progressing and that the more modern research supplants the earlier ideas.

Even then, when you hear in the mainstream media that eating X isn't good for you after all, and that eating Y isn't so bad, or whatever, you have to actually look at the study, as it's often misinterpreted by the media.

When we find these "studies" in Socionics, the first thing to do would be to see how they're defining and measuring the various IM elements, what their sample size is, and what the statistics actually show.

I think a lot of the "studies" though are more like very small focus groups with highly uncontrolled designs.

But if you can show some real research that demonstrates this or that, let's see it.

Oh. Well that just sounds bogus. I don't see why it would have to be a seven year time span for any function to develop, nor why it has to be in any order. If nothing else, why would the super-ego block "develop" second and not last, which would seem to be the logical way for it to go?

Sounds like crap. I might buy into it if it progressed something like this:

    For ENTp

    first: Ne/Te
    second: Ti/Ni
    third: Se/Fe
    fourth: Fi/Si
    3w4-5w6-9w8

    This sounds like:
    1. An echo of the folk-medicine saw about the body's cells or atoms being replaced every seven years.
    2. An excuse for difficulty in "scientifically" assigning a conclusive IM type to some people.

The first one is the growth dynamics which means that every horizontal block of two functions (see below) is filling in the certain age, from bottom to top, with the roughly 7 years interval, so that the lowest block is done before 7, the next is complete before 14, the weak part of the mental track is done before 21, and the top block finally leads after that. Due to this process, a child, or a teenager, may demonstrate faces of other sociotypes according to the active horizontal block. Besides, being introduced to the unknown people, or in stressful situations, people again may demonstrate adaptive or protective behaviour directed by the appropriate blocks (see below)."

If this is true, then (generally) wouldn't the best way for one to determine their type be to think of how they were when they were 7, and base it off of that?
What would make the most sense, as far as I'm concerned, is for one functional axis, with one function in the Ego block and one function in the Super-id block, to start cementing itself first (/, for example, which, if was Ego and was Super-id, would put in the Id block and in the Super-ego block), and then, later on, for another functional axis to cement itself, which would lock all the functions in place

Having said that, I can see subtypes as being much more fluid...
