Default Fast and the Furious characters

    Dom - SLE
    Brian - IEI
    Letty - SLE
    Vince - SLE
Mea - who knows, maybe LSI or something else entirely

I noticed in the latest movie that it was important when introducing characters that they in some way demonstrate their coolness (and well they had to continually demonstrate or try to demonstrate it throughout the film so as to pump themselves up in the eyes of their peers). I felt I was being forced to concur "yeah that character is so cool, dawg" in every scene. I wanted to get my revenge but there's no one to get it on.

But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

What's the big deal K0rpsey? Such movies make people feel themselves a little less worthless.

It's certainly worth considering that the derring-do of exceptional individuals provides the average schlub with vicarious access to the heroic. Studies show that self-esteem in sports fans is tied to the victories of the team(s) with which they make pseudo-tribal identification, and through psychological displacement and splitting that foists blame for failure on the opposing teams, referees, and fans, they even manage to boost their morale in the face of defeats. However, the only point I concerned myself with in my original remark was this:

Yeah, a bunch of "hard-ass" betas. I think (I actually watched this movie?)

I have seen one and two. Unfortunately those are 3 to 4 hours of my life that I can't never get back.

I will pass on this one. By the way anyone over 15 who watches this and thinks it's cool needs to grow up.

i could appreciate the first movie, but repeating the exercise 4 (!) times seems a little superfluous.

i remember thinking the main character was a bit of an odd man out in the group (i.e. "nicer", less rough), but that may just have been because he was a beta NF type among Se's.

I think I saw these, don't want to sound like on some crusade or something but didn't like what I saw, pretty boring.

EDIT: Shit, didn't know there is 4 parts of this.

I think you might be right about Dom and Brian (although I don't really care about the subtypes).

About Vince though... just because he's an unlikeable Beta who has failed to demonstrate his coolness does not make him LSE. I just can't see him as LSE at all. Edit: also he's not really unlikeable so I think I used the wrong word... he is more moronic than the others though and I think that's what really sets him apart is he just can't keep up mentally.

I personally do not feel ashamed at having watched this film. I watched it precisely because I wanted a dose of the hard-assery (it's just the coolness displays really took away from this and had me dreaming of death). You can call this pathetic if you want. Furthermore I like Dom the character.

Judging from the actors, trailers, and what I know about the series, Gamma extraverts.

Might be a Beta or two in there, but its not specifically Beta-themed.

    Testosterone+lawbreaking+cool things = SLE, amirite?
    The end is nigh

I'd say the presentation of the film is definitely Beta. Can the film be more Gamma themed than Beta? sure. But it doesn't change the that I see all over the place.
