why yes i did. this way if you stick the fork at a ninety degree angle into this arrangement you'll get a nice little tomato+basil+mozareela sandwich @smallspongeUSA and all those basil leaves were homegrown, turned out basil is a fucking weed.

if i knew how to get high on basil i'd be rich now lol

weed in the other meaning of the word - we planted it into this tiny cup of soil and it grew to occupy several feet of the window crowding out all the other herbs. and once you prick its leaves it grows new ones from the very same node. amazing plant.

My new favorite homemade recipe: slow cooker loaded baked potato soup. I made a batch with 6 lbs of potatoes and it didn't last 24 hours between us and my in-laws.

I've been practicing making eggs benedict for a little while now, and this is the best I've made yet! The yolks are a little overcooked though.

I've made a couple videos on eggs too. Perhaps some of you are interested in taking a look. They aren't the best made videos but I learned a lot making them. I'll know how to do better next time. Here's one on eggs benedict:

    And another on Hollandaise Sauce:

@Eliza Thomason you and your husband would love this. Also you may need to steam it before frying

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

cinnamon apple crepes with pomagranate syrup

    syrup:

fresh pomagranate juice into a sauce pan on medium heat (pomagranates sent by @Director Abbie )

some sunny D because it's there in the 'fridge

a couple tablespoons of sugar (probably could have used less)

threw in some chopped up maraschino cherries because i already used up all the juice from the jar

not tangy enough, add some lemon juice

gently boil down into a syrup

    apple filling:
    thinly slice up an apple

    saute apple slices in butter

add some water, throw in some sugar and a shitload of cinnamon with a dash of nutmeg because you think that's a thing in apple cinnamon (not pictured: cut up sauted apple slices into smaller chunks because that seems more reasonable)

cook it all down into something tasty

crepes (makes 4 in a medium (8 inch?) skillet):
1/2 cup of flour, 1 egg, 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup milk, 1 Tblsp melted butter, dash of vanilla and salt

mix it all up well with a fork into into a thin batter

pour about 1/4 of batter into a lightly oiled pan on medium heat, tilt pan around to coat the bottom with batter

let it cook for 30 seconds to a minute on a side then flip and do it again...

spoon and smear the apple stuff onto crepe

roll them up and throw away the extra crepe because you didn't have enough apple stuff

put some cool whip on them and pour pomagranate syrup over it, slice crepes in half and take hasty picture for the internet as the camera battery dies not allowing you to get the perfect shot.
