childhood friend
I just dug out this old picture of us in Versailles, France. It shows me and two friends. I'd say one of them is still my friend (who prefers to remain untyped)but I broke off contact with the other one (on the right). I know a single picture is not sufficient for a decent VI, but I'd still like to hear some suggestions. Unfortunately, I don't have more. No problem if nobody has an idea, I think he's pretty hard to type.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

That's very interesting actually. You all seem to be quite sure that he's extrovert, but if I think back, he didn't seem like one. (Still, I think you're right!) We were best friends in elementary school but still got into conflict in almost regulated intervals. That often got pretty 'nasty', we exploded (mostly he did) and said unpleasant things. As the years went by, we 'driftet apart' more and more. He started to be interested in socialising, I kept to myself. He tried to fit into groups, he wanted to be accepted by others. I never wasted a single thought about that. What I always hated was his unpredictable impulsiveness and unreasonable arguments if we discussed a situation or simply argued. He immediately started to insult his 'opponent' personally which I never did. At some point, I was totally fed up and refused to interact with him anymore. This school trip to France was one of the key situations that led me to this insight.
Whatever type I am, I'm sure we aren't duals. If we were duals, we'd be friends for life. It's not so easy to break up a childhood friendship and that hadn't happened if that would be the case. It might actually be possible that my best friend was my conflictor the whole time! That explains a lot of things if it's true...
