I never wave back. Why are strangers waving at me? Especially the 40 year old aging hipster mothers.

And, why would you get pissed? I'd just figure the person didn't realize who I was or they were distracted or something. Why waste your energy getting mad at something dumb like that. sheesh.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. I count raising my hand as a gesture of greeting, even though I rarely wave it. I wave to babies by opening and shutting my hand.

i don't remember this happening, but if it was somehow obvious to me that somebody saw me and deliberately didn't wave back, i would probably wonder if they were mad at me (depending on the person), but i can't imagine being angry. concern or anxiety would probably be more likely.

I do straight-faced nods. They mean, "I acknowledge your presence but have no wish to talk to you at the moment."
A stranger at work said "HI! HOW ARE YOU?" to me as I was halfway into a bathroom stall (like closing the door). I didn't say anything, and she had a tantrum about how rude I was while she was washing her hands.
I'm sick of that question. Sometimes people wave and say, "How are you?" then walk away before I can respond, like they were just saying, "Hi." But they weren't. They were asking a question and showed they couldn't care less how I was by not waiting for a reply.
That's something I am annoyed by as well. Related to that are people who ask that question but aren't actually interested in a comprehensive answer. Why even ask?
I don't believe I've ever actually done that. I have this thing about listening to people, and if I ask them a question I'm going to be waiting for an answer. I'm also probably going to ask a follow up question.
Heh, back on topic, I don't think I'm going to be pissed. Probably I'll just a bit upset/uncomfortable that I took the effort to go out and greet someone like that. Yet, they don't acknowledge me.
