Distinguishing Researchers

I have just discovered a gaping hole in my understanding of socionics. I do not fully understand the difference between an Alpha researcher and a Gamma researcher. This is probably because I do not fully understand the difference between Ni and Ne or that between Ti and Te. This is particularly disturbing to me because I suspect myself of being a researcher. Any advice?

It can be hard to distinguish. It's taking me a long time to decide between INTj and ENTj for my dad. Something that might help is learning more about temperaments, since each of the NT types is a different temperament.

INTp and ENTp are pretty easy for me to pick out now, but I still have trouble with INTj vs. ENTj. The Xj temperaments in general are just harder for me to distinguish.

This is better if you really want to understand quadras and the nature of their progression. Speaking of which, there's some weird quadra archetypes in tarot too if anyone knows anything about that.

Reality of Theory
Alpha Researcher: Gathering rational research into systematic constructs of classified information; analyzing, testing, experimenting, classifying, structuring.

Theories of Reality
Gamma Researcher: Putting empirical research into the context of a theory; observing, organizing, comparing, applying, synthesizing.

Any type can work in any field, the approach used by types however will be different. You might say LIEs and ILIs work best as social scientists and ILEs and LIIs as formal scientists. This is just comparison though, not to be taken as definitive.

Just read transcripts of Niels Bohr (Te-INTp) vs. Albert Einstein (Ti-ENTp) and the debates they had between each other in their correspondence. That will highlight the differences to you clear as day.

(P.S.: If Bolt sees this I'm sure he will emphatically babble that the types are the other way around, but… Bolt is Bolt, and that's all I can really say about that.)

The stronger the introversion, the stronger this intensity is (same is true of extraverts, strong extraverts will use their creative in a very focused way). For example for Fe in creative position watch some of ******'s speeches - for Fe in leading position watch Barack Obama's videos.

Yeah, the 4 suits of the Minor Arcana. I actually don't know anything about Tarot, but these happened to casually strike me one day as intriguingly relevant. I'll make a thread about it on Socionix because there's dumb limits on how many images I can put per post here.
