It's not that Jung's description of Ne by itself doesn't fit, but it's the "Extroverted Intuitive Type" description of his that I find fault with. I think most of his descriptions of specific types of people (not the IEs themselves) are based heavily on what we'd now call temperament, so the Ne and Se descriptions will sound hyper Ep to the point of ridiculousness, Ni and Si to Ip, etc.

ftr I'm not doubting my self-typing, I just feel like hearing what other people think I am.

In your day to day life, what kind of things do you notice? What kind of things do you communicate to people? How do people describe you who know you?

I tend to notice patterns very easily; patterns/shapes/balances in all sorts of things. But these tend to be things that I don't really pay much conscious attention to, and as such I don't place too much of a conscious importance on them. It's kinda like a background process that's always on. I'm not really sure what kinds of things I communicate to people, because beyond simple subject matter I'm sure I'm gonna be conveying things about myself subconsciously.

When meeting someone for the first time or else being acquainted with something (say a novel) for the first time, what sort of things stick out to you?

Uhm, who the person is tends to be pretty apparent to me when I first get to know somebody. I like to talk about how I see 'essences' of people, but not in a bullshit hippie "aura" way.

Describe your general thought process. What makes you you? Where do your strengths lie? What things make you feel good about yourself that you feel makes you feel effective?

I guess I have a very strong sense of beauty/artistry and am very emotionally impacted by things (music has been my classic standby, but film is kinda coming into the picture too).

And to be fair, what are you definitely not? What sort of things are things you don't care to notice or bore you when your attention is brought to them? Where do you feel yourself weak at? Where are your real trouble points?

I'm def ENFp. Irrational as fuck, Ne+Fi valuing, love for delta STs. I feel weak when it comes to relying on myself to be able to do things that are outside of my sphere of knowledge (E6 lol).

I guess people think that because you still appear to be more inwardly focused than the average extrovert. Not hermit-like as other people might be, but still above average. Ashton for example seems to be a classic extrovert for me.

Another ENFp guy interpreted something I said as pity and laughed at me for it and it hurt because I was trying to communicate care. Well I'm not amused by some reference to the pot calling the kettle black or that two weird kids with bunny ears are pointing to each other. Like omg, the irony of me saying something about Fi subtypes when I'm also a Fi subtype must mean I'm making an ironic poke at myself! And now we're going to make this witty assumption slightly obvious, but not really! I liked "lol <3" a lot better. It was soothing. The picture was still meant to be along the lines of "lol <3." I had it lying around in my photobucket account and I figured that would be a good time to use it. I saw it as representing two people sharing an inside joke, where they are laughing with each other about some reference that probably only the two of them would get. I'm sorry if that hurt you though :/
