Default Something has become more and more apparent the older my daughter gets

She is not Delta. She has very strong and valued Ti. She is Alpha, and more specifically, ILE. This has been discussed to a great extent in the chat. I'm pretty secure that this is the real deal. Our home is not a sea of Delta bliss after all. She's really awesome though, in all her Alpha NTness.

Does the younger child bring yet another quadra to our home? Only time will tell!

And yes, this is me. There is someone new named Marietta and it seems potentially confusing, and I'm getting tired of that name anyway.

OK so I need to preface this conversation by saying that she wasn't speaking with a bratty or snotty tone of voice, because this could have been said in a snotty way. She was being playful and silly, and just gently teasing me.

Her: Mom, why is your dead ipod hooked up to the charger?
Me: I'm trying to charge it.
    Her: It's dead.
Me: I don't care. I'm still trying to charge it.
Her: It's broken. It isn't going to charge.
Me: I keep trying it - I check every so often to see if it's working again.
Her: The only way it could start working again is if magical ipod fairies travel by electricity through the charger into the ipod and wave their little ipod fairy magic wands. Because electricity alone won't help that ipod anymore.
    *she moves to unplug it.*
Me: Stop it! I want it plugged in.
Her: That doesn't make any sense!
Me: I don't care, I want it plugged in.
    Her:
Me: I'm not giving up yet. I'm not ready to say goodbye.
    Her:

Hmm my father is professionally an electrician, actually (IEE). He used to build electronic circuits in the '80s, with sulphuric acid, protecting paste, etc. Me and my brother recall hilarious incidents with him blowing things (even blowing up!) out of negligence, otherwise he was doing things by the book, following instructions and such.
And yeah, he finds hard to throw old/broken things away (often taking such things from people who don't need them), always was trying to repair them, boasting afterwards with his magic, LOL. IMO it's worth the effort to buy something new than the one to repair an old scrap, which in most of the cases works poorly too.

My stepdad is an SEE who works with computers, and his solution to basically every problem is "reformat the harddrive".

lol!! and @ "I'm not ready to say goodbye" . yeah seems like she just wasn't looking at it that way at all. It does seem to be the difference between Fi and Ti.
