Why is a bow longer range than a sniper rifle?

That said, this is nice. I've always loved being the control guy and having the freedom to decide the flow of fights and pick and destroy targets. Even playing tanky characters in hack'n'slash type games is a variation of this, because the unstoppable beefstick juggernaut is the pinnacle of control and freedom in a tactical sense, imo.

Archery is peripheral. can't handle objects that are too close and you get that with the scope on a sniper. can handle close objects as it uses downrange aiming.

Perhaps I'm ISJ. I don't mind engaging/taking flack from multiple targets in arguments, etc. Physically as well. I don't mean to interpret this literally, but it's kind of funny. One of the most stupid/funny moments in highschool was when some guy pushed out me of the way on a stairwell. So I punched him. I thought it was over with. Then by lunchtime, he and all his friends confronted me. And worse, my own friends backed off and zipped their lips. I think they got scared because they all looked like they were from the barrio or something. And the first thing that came to mind was DeNiro in Mean Streets, when he got top of a pool table and tried to take on "multiple targets" (he got beat down btw). So I did that with the picnic bench. Fortunately, no one made a first move. I kind of psyched them out. Eventually I even became friends with some.

I know an ISTp who destroyed me in a fight. Only one who's ever made me look that bad. Funnily, I became friends with him later too. Here's the sad thing though.. he died getting jumped, trying to protect his girlfriend at some bar. Some guys ganged up on him in the parking lot and beat him with a tire iron.

I was bitchy about the "brilliant" thread in the Gamma subforum, so I want to be sure to tell you I really like this--thanks.

Since this was pulled from reality, you can say more about this, not just Fighting Styles. I'd have to think more though to keep everything accurate.

    INFj style

    -
    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I don't think you guys realize the premise of this thread was based on real life observations...The Fighting Styles refer to what kind of "vision" these types have and how they process targets (problems). I intended for there to be discussion.

I will just make another thread.

Lol, hey I thought mine was alright; even if not tangibly serious per se. I'll self-split it for you.

But tbh, I think if you're looking for srs discussion re: Socionics, you're unlikely to find much of it on any forums. The membership base seems pretty tapped out on the subject AFAICT. I do see some people post interesting+serious threads occasionally, but they hardly seem to get many bites and little comes of them. Which discourages such threads from happening in the future. It's a real problem, but I don't see a remedy.

For the most part, things revolve around lols, with an occasional morsel of microwavable self-help gristle. You'll probably want to lower your expectations accordingly.

I'd agree with you, except I'm near-sighted, and technically I'm a mage/sorcerer, but in real life- that can only translate to writing words and absorbing information in a book, since I can't physically shoot fireballs out of my palms. =D

Well, I will further comment on the archer imagery for me. To me, the archer is an image of my spiritual life. Although I am quite able and sometimes apt to fight in the moment, I also know that the real fights of my life have to do with visualizing and taking aim at my future goals. And in the rare case I have an actual enemy, I do feel that one way to wipe the person out is by focusing on the big picture. This renders whatever temporary crap they aim at me less important, allowing me to stand apart from it. I only wish I could do this consistently.

I see this style much more clearly evidenced in my ILI mother. She truly takes the long view. She will wait and watch and plan, for years if need be, to change her situation in such a way as to get her revenge on someone. She's highly effective at this, and I wouldn't want to be the person who deeply wronged her.

So that's my F-ish perspective. Anyone wanna contribute something T-ish?

Wonderful little list with pictures, IC. We've been needing something like this and I fully agree with your descriptions. Boring as it is, I perform best when playing a basic meatshield swordswoman.

Tunnel vision + Ballistic, yeah I would say that's correct for myself.

And my weakness would indeed be a far away target. I'd rather know and see exactly what I'm up against and get it over with. --I'm learning timing is extremely important.
