I assume phototyping means Visual Identification?

I'd consider myself pretty not bad at it.

While VI is not everything and isn't the sole tool of typing, I still think I can spot (EP, EJ, IP, IJ) temperaments pretty good, I'm still sharpening up the romance styles.

phototyping is the most unreliable typing method being used.

Although very popular among frauds. :-\

But since you are a girl, we will make an exception this time. Bring on the pics!

ha, interesting. i could see this since phototyping can involve intuition, gut feelings, and reliance on "vibes" and such - the observations can be hard to substantiate in the first place, and therefore hard to prove "wrong".

also, since phototyping involves concrete information (people's physical appearances), some people may be drawn to the idea of this "hard evidence", preferring it to vague and abstract speculations about people's information preferences. so it could be easy for a "fraud" to abuse phototyping this way to convince others of stuff that isn't true.

    true.

but we've even had a little experiment on this forum a while ago.

Someone showed pics of several people of whos types were known by him.

5 people tried to VI the people, and we had a score of 0% correct.

That says enough. But VI works, I don't dispute that, but not by photo's.

If given a choice, I prefer both still images and motion video. Images can bring out certain aspects about a person that are otherwise obscured in video; conversely, video can bring out certain aspects that images sometimes don't convey.
oke it's not a professional set up or something, but at least the fact that everybody had different answers and that no answers were the same as the suspected true types, means at least that VI is not as easy as assumed by some.

But we could test your skills if you want.

I think a picture can help give a feel for someone's type, but really that's it. If you want people to give you some ideas as to what your type might be, maybe post a photo AND tell a bit about yourself.

    Me
    -
    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE
