Default Dear Deltas enjoy life more

I respect your drive, your determination. Your amazing ability to identify what you want and go get it. Sometimes I wish I were more motivated myself. But for Pete's sake (and the sake of those around you), lighten up a little. Relax.

Life isn't about career or reaching goals. It's the journey along the way... go to a party, spend more time with friends. You don't need to work non-stop... it's ok to take a break.

Thank you, but most importantly, with TeSi + FiNe dual pair, we want our work to have meaning in the scope of things beyond our immediate lifetime although we do only focus on making changes that matter now.

There's plenty party in this quadra...and quality family/friendship time.

That an Ni/Se quadra (Gamma and Beta) you're describing. Delta is not concerned about endurance, strife and reaching grand ideals, +>+
Pleasure in the moment is just as important in Delta as it is to Alpha, it's just that since Delta has there is a level of satisfaction that accompanies productivity and the quality of production

read Rick's description of the quadras. They're brief, but quite to the point

Types from the Delta Quadra value pragmatism, hard work, beautifully functional items, and earthy humor and enjoy "productive" relationships where people do projects together. They are usually emotionally subdued and like to discuss topics seriously with the intention of implementing their conclusions.

Types of this quadra enjoy discussing people, internal motivation, and self-development. They believe in peaceful self-government without coercion and in the inherent potential of each human being for personal fulfillment.

    Subdued elements:
The Delta Quadra doesn't appreciate high ideals or abstractions that don't relate well to real life. They also don't like large institutions or power systems that do not take into consideration the interests of separate individuals.

    Typical Delta quadra group behavior:
Discussion of interesting facts about people and places. Enjoy group outdoor activities. "Live and let live" attitude. Engage only in "productive" activities and discussions. Prefer smaller groups. Emotionally subdued; generally serious, but with periodic funny moments.

Mountain Dew didn't say anything about endurance, strife, or reaching grand ideals.

He was talking about focus on goals, and a hardworking mentality to reach those goals, and sometimes getting so caught up in that that we forget to party. I feel this is true of Delta, maybe less so of SLIs, but very much so of LSEs and the delta NFs. I'd say he's referring more to our serious quadra-ness, where we dont always appreciate alpha "shenanigans" as Brian put it. The goals dont have to be "grand ideals", nor does hard work and drive need to involve "endurance" or "strife". Well speaking for myself as an IEE, sometimes it ends up involving endurance and strife just because of my terrible weakness in Si. And then recuperation is in order.

BTW this thread is kind of a socionics fail. It furthers a lot of 'extended stereotypes' towards what being a psychological type means. Extrapolation much.

Is it? Well, you (personally) should treat it like you do with your mother and those bill/paperwork things, and just leave all the Te work to someone who has it in their ego (in my opinion). Why do you try to do so much of it when you say yourself you don't want to deal with Te things at all, just want someone else to do it?

FWIW I doubt Sherlock Holmes would think much of the way socionics is used in this thread

It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.

I seem to remember an Alpha telling me he never wanted to end up with a dual because my life with my husband sounded lazy and unproductive and he didn't want that. And I said life with an ESE would probably not be lazy and unproductive. Anyway, not all Alphas are into slacking, and not all Deltas are motivated to advance themselves.
