    Default Equilibrium

    John Preston - INTj
    Brandt - ISTj

Obviously movie characters aren't always going to exhibit perfect representations of Model A, but I feel like the reason both of these characters are described as "intuitive" when it comes to detecting the emotions of others is because of the Dual Seeking function. Types are always good at recognizing their own Dual Seeking function in others, and I think Brandt and John are good examples of how dual seeking works.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Hell yea It's a quality flick, for sure.

I really love the movie. Every time I watch it, I'm breathless. The coolness factor is way up there with the first Matrix movie. I do agree with one critic who said that it doesn't make sense half the time and it's a rip-off of various different movies and books (mainly Brave New World).

    I disagree about Fe-dual seeking.

Brandt - ISFp. He sucks in all the emotion around him. And he laughs in a playful tone a lot.
John Preston - Ni type, but not Si-PoLR for obvious reasons. INxp. I think he's an INFp with a lot of self-control in stead of an INTp. INFp could make sense.
Errol Partridge - VI ESTp. Seems they were great together as long as the relationship lasted.
    Mary O'Brien - ???

You can't use VI on movie characters; we're typing the personalities, not the actors. Besides, Sean Bean VIs closer to ENFj than ESTp.

Mary's actor is an ISFp, and I think the character is Fe as well.

I still think Sean Bean looks like a calm ESTp (Ti-sub?). Looks do matter. In movies it's not important what the script says about some character. It's important to see how the character turned out.

    ***SPOILERS***
I considered ISFp for Mary. I think it makes sense, but not so much if John is INFp. I think Mary was supposed to be an ENFj with strong belief that people need emotions in their lives. A deep and strong person who dies for what she believes in. The actress was ISFp, so she gave it an ISFp touch and it turned out as an ISFp foolish woman who got caught. At least her death led to greater developments in the world.

I will actually agree with ENFj for Mary, mainly because I can't see that sort of purity of belief overriding attachment to the more physical aspects of life in an ISFp.

    Default Equilibrium

There was a thread, but it didn't contain every character.

    Mary O'Brien
    Brandt
    Jürgen
    Errol Partridge
    Father
