Default Types and your ideal self...

I am an ILE (or so I believe).

My ideal self is highly moral, doesn't ever make any mistakes and is pretty much perfect.

Is this a normal ideal self for an ILE?

    What about you?

LIIs are often very perfectionist, ILE not so much in my opinion. Both types share some similarities, since they belong to the same quadra. Have you thought about being actually LII? However, I call myself ILI and I also tend to be perfectionist. So I don't think it requires the j-preference to be like that. Maybe you are the Ti-subtype.

EDIT: Highly moral tendencies may also correlate with Fi-valuing, just saying.

Nah, not just E1. I agree that it's the typical perfectionist among the E-types, but I think this one-liner isn't enough to assign E1 without doubt. I don't rule it our, either.

    EIE.

My ideal self is fearless, successful, charismatic, energetic. Able to overcome any challenges presented to me and smile while doing it, and receiving the undying admiration of my peers for it. Rich, successful and famous, but not quite so self-absorbed as to forget the little people.

Galen is on the right track in that this probably corresponds to Enneagram much more than it does Socionics.
What do these signs mean—, , etc.? Why cannot socionists use symbols Ne, Ni etc. as in MBTI? Just because they have somewhat different meaning. Socionics and MBTI, each in its own way, have slightly modified the original Jung's description of his 8 psychological types. For this reason, (Ne) is not exactly the same as Ne in MBTI.

Just one example: in MBTI, Se (extraverted sensing) is associated with life pleasures, excitement etc. By contrast, the socionic function (extraverted sensing) is first and foremost associated with control and expansion of personal space (which sometimes can manifest in excessive aagression, but often also manifests in a capability of managing lots of people and things).

For this reason, we consider comparison between MBTI types and socionic types by functions to be rather useless than useful.

It's a little over-the-top, but I otherwise relate to this. I don't necessarily want all the attention. I want to be the type of person who is highly respected among experts. Someone who among those whom are successful is looked up to, and the type that is probably only known by people in my field. The best of the best in a more exclusive kind of way. Movie-star-status isn't as appealing to me. I do really relate to wanting to be fearless, successful, charismatic, energetic, and being able to overcome hardship with a smile as you put it.

Typing my ideal self as such, I think:

    Socionics: EIE-SEE
    MBTI: ENTJ
    SLOAN: |S|COAI
    Enneagram: 3w2 > 6w7 (counter-phobic) > 8w7 so/sp.

My ideal self will create a breakthrough invention (could be just a conceptual invention) which will never be either fully implemented and/or really valued during his lifetime yet become extremely influential (scientifically and/or artistically) for centuries past his death. Think about someone like Leonardo, for example.

"Successful and looked up to" sounds more like a 3 motivation (which makes sense as you are a 3). Eights are more concerned with success as a way to place themselves ahead and above the pack and thus not be controlled.

My ideal self derives the utmost pleasure and source of life from his imagination, as well as from the strong supportive relationship with his most treasured loved one.

IEE, I dont think about my ideal self as I am happy as I am and I have no intention of being better in something specific. As long as I move forward in little steps and im improving my life or myself in some way im fine. The only problem is stagnation, then Im unhappy with where I am but not exactly with myself.

My ideal self likes somewhere in between myself and the 8w9 or 9w8 region: someone with a sort of effervescent strength and confidence to get where I want to go in life, but still humble enough to relinquish my independence temporarily for those I really care about. Something along those lines with the artistic sensibilities I already have. I guess in that way my "ideal self" is more equatable to that of an well-balanced ESTj?

the concept of having an ideal self is kinda foreign to me, tbh. idk if that should be attributed to confidence or to apathy. heh. i just am who i am.

in my daydreams i'm something like an SEE, though. lol.

edit: maybe that means that "something like SEE" is my ideal self, but i was thinking of ideal self in terms of something consciously strived towards or deliberately considered?

    Ideal self
Introverted Feeler - INFP or ISFP - E4.

In real life however these types tend to drive me crazy with their "wait and see" approach to life and their aversion to dealing with conflicts.

In theory Id love to be one though.
