I haven't seen these pictures in this forum before. Sorry if they already have been posted. I think they are fascinating. They are from the Russian site Socionics.org

i'm not sure what to make of these. since they're drawings, i wonder if we are supposed to look at the bone structure and stuff because things like facial expression and looks in the eyes aren't really captured exactly the same in drawings as in photographs because they aren't real. they are interesting though.

the LSE looks like some sort of wood fairy and the EII looks totally pissed off. i can't decide which is one is most like me...maybe the ESE, ESI, or IEE.

    SLE got jipped.

Does the site mention who drew these, Now'sTheTime?

I wonder if anyone here's got the art-chops to do something similar.

    EDIT: Nice avi, ll.

Filatova. She took a bunch of pictures of people she typed, and these are based on them. The pictures are up on socioniko.net.

These pictures are pretty good IMO but not perfect. They fit some people better than others.

I can see the point of using drawings though. It's the same as when typing many people in real life, and slowly getting a mental picture of what a certain type looks like, integrated from many real persons. A drawing can be made to match that, but a photograph is always of a single person.

It would be better if there was more than one for each type. There's usually a spectrum of looks for each type, and not necessarily anything that they all have in common. That goes for behavioral traits too.

I think she[Filatova] was going for trait consistency. I'm not sure about the others, but SEE's low eyes and button nose are very characteristic.

Yeah! I wish I could post some pictures of people I know. The resemblance in some cases is pretty striking.

Aren't there supposed to be drawings for both genders?

ENTp: I can def see a resemblance.
    ISFp: Can't tell
    ESFj: Maybe a little
INTj: I can see what they're getting at.

ENFj: Can't tell the gender. Maybe if it's female.
    ISTj: Could work
ESTp: Don't know if it looks like anybody I've seen before, except for like a female Chris Nolan (who is ESTp, hmm).
    INFp: Yep, lol

    ESFp: A bit I suppose.
    INTp: Eh
ENTj: It's got the Frankenstein head-shape right, but other than that not really.
ISFj: Could work. Does seem IJ.

    ESTj: Not really.
INFj: In a way it works. Take away the bitch eyebrows and I could see it better.
ENFp: SUSAN BOYLE HAD A STROKE. Nah.
ISTp: Looks more ISTj than anything else.

I look like a mix of the EIE, ILI, and the ILE. I have seen SEEs that look very similar to the portrait given. Ehh I still dont put much value into VI, especially not these portraits.

I agree kindof. But the thing is that these drawings capture something that cannot always be seen in photographs. They are like an image of what the type looks like, generalized from many different individuals or from observations of the same individual over time. That's what I like about these drawings. I can match these drawings to my mental image of certain people but not necessarily to a single photograph. Well, at least something like that.

Ye. With that being said, one of these portraits reminds me a lot of myself in a couple of my photos or some occasions of viewing myself in the mirror.

The feeling is like, "wow did this person just try to draw me?" But then, when you actually go to look at yourself its not there. It's some kind of memory that stands out. So perhaps it takes a certain quality to VI, not being able to use just 1/5 photos deemed acceptable.

The other thing I must mention is, the type that reminds me of myself in these portraits does not fit her type description. Yet somehow its just there in the face, the whole profile, what she couldn't say about the type but really wanted to, or something.

Based on my VI expertise in the past couple of years, I'm not really too fond of these portraits however. I've seen much clearer examples from other sources that are more witnessable/gaugeable/agreeable irl, and it doesn't really correlate with these either. I mean Filatova was the one who really didn't have a lot to say about Ni and so just lumped the fantasy types in with them. I don't expect her knowledge on the topic to be sufficient, likewise neither do I expect the hundreds of Russian members who voted on those type description polls to think that. They apparently think she lacks in understanding too.

Why can't you people just use real photographs? Fuck, it's like you're all obsessed with seeing the world through cartoons or something. Annoying.

More than likely, they just give you ample free range to overindulge your imagination to a point of self-bamboozlement.

    You assume.

It's assumed that Filatova's portraits are valid aggregations of each types' representative structural facial compositions, with this assumption, her portraits are already preferred over any typed person's photograph as we'd have to make another assumption that those were accurate typings. Also, it is not like anyone is "all obsessed with seeing the world through cartoons or something", if it were, everyone would be "all obsessed with seeing the world through cartoons or something", which they're not. Lastly, your annoyance is a personal problem, it'd be wise to seek therapeutic help instead of displacing your frustration here, or at least remove yourself from contact with the input.

    Assume.
