Aggressive/Compliant/Withdrawn + Triad
I've read on other forums something related to this idea, but I wanted to bring it up here to see what people think.
Aggressive types (3,7,8) strive for external involvement, and lose self-awareness.
Compliant types (1,2,6) strive for togetherness and trust of others, and lose their internal guide for reality.
Withdrawn types (4,5,9) strive for self-reflection, and lose their instinctiveness and external control.
Heart Triads are self-aware and strive for a sense of significance and self-importance.
Head Triads are thoughtful and strive for certainty and security.
Gut Triads are instinct driven and desire control and satisfaction.
For the Secondary types, this is relatively straight forward.
1s, striving for compliance and instinctual desire, want what they feel to be right. They are driven by their moral compass and desire for righteousness. Being in the gut triad, they can easily be angered by lack of their instinctual desires, and their anger is brought to peace when everything is the way it should be. Being compliant, they want what is good for others in their community whether society as a whole or their family, and they feel secure in relying on others, and so they rarely feel a need to question things. 1s are Gut>Heart>Head. They struggle with anger and rarely struggle with lack of security from uncertainty.
2s, striving for compliance and significance, want to feel like a contributing friend, lover, or citizen. They need to be needed. Being heart types, they focus on their identity, and they need to feel important, and this resolved by giving in to the needs of others and being important to them. Being compliant, they also want what is good for other in their close community, and they feel secure in rely on others and don't need to question everything. 2s are Heart>Gut>Head. They struggle with shame, and rarely struggle with lack of security from uncertainty.
4s, striving for self-reflection and significance, want to get in touch with their true feelings and identity. The must be true to their internal self and the significance of their deep feelings. The significance needed to compensate for their feelings of shame are resolved by the significance of their emotions and being true to those feelings. Their withdrawn nature leaves them disconnected from their instinctual drives. 4s are Heart>Head>Gut. They struggle with shame and rarely struggle with anger from lack of satisfaction.
5s, striving for self-reflection and security, want to gain knowledge on the world. The more they feel they can understand the world, the more they feel they can properly handle it. The security they need from their feelings of fear and uncertainty is gained by reflecting on ideas and knowledge about the world. As a withdrawn type, they lose their instinctive nature. 5s are Head>Heart>Gut. They struggle with fear and anxiety and rarely struggle with anger from lack of satisfaction.
7s, striving to be involved with external world and for security, want to distract their overly questioning mind. The more they can keep themselves stimulated the less they less they have to deal with all the anxiety they feel. The security they need to cure their fears and anxiety is achieved by staying occupied and seeking stimulating activities. As an aggressive type, they are very involved with external affairs and are not as focused on how they appear. 7s are Head>Gut>Heart. They struggle with fear and anxiety and rarely struggle with shame from their self-image.
8s, striving to be involved with the external world and for satisfaction, force a situation into what is satisfying. The better they can control their circumstances, the more satisfied they are. The satisfaction they need to relieve their rage is accomplished by controlling the external world. Being an aggressive type, they have little awareness of themselves. 8s are Gut>Head>Heart.
The Primary types (3,6,9) have conflicting positions. Their strategy for dealing with their needs are in opposition to the need itself. They become simultaneously hyper-aware of their need and unaware of the truth of the situation. This is both a gift and a curse. They are often affected so heavily by shame, anxiety, or anger, that they are unaware of it's existence.
3s, striving to be involved with the external world and for significance, need to find something to make them feel important in the world. They strive for importance and significance, but have little concept of them self. To relieve their feelings of shame, they look for objective measures of importance like rewards, accomplishments, or the reactions of others. As aggressive types they are not very aware of their own identity, but this combined with their need for significance makes them hyper-vigilant towards any sign of what people think of them. They are cursed with a loss of sense of self, but gifted with the ability to adapt to others expectations. 3s can easily manipulate their own image and often even fool themselves. They are usually in denial about their inauthenticity. 3s are Heart>Head=Gut. They are hyper-aware of shame and deal with anger and insecurity on a somewhat equal level.
6s, striving for compliance and security, need to find trust and reliance in something or someone. They strive to find certainty and security, but they rely on people and ideas that may not always be trustworthy. To find security for their fears and anxiety, they look for something they can rely on to always act as rock upon which they can stand. As compliant types they are reliant on their community, but their need for security makes them highly skeptical and questioning. They are cursed with an inability to trust in things, but they are gifted with hyper-vigilance and spot likely problems far in advance. 6s are well prepared and diligent individuals but sometimes their energy is wasted. They are usually in denial about their paranoia. 6s are Head>Gut=Heart. They are hyper-aware of anxiety from uncertainty and deal with anger and shame on a somewhat equal level
9s, striving for self-reflection and satisfaction, need to find inner harmony and stability. They strive to satisfy their desires, but they are disconnected from their instinctual drives to satisfy them. To find satisfaction for their building rage, they reflect on them. As a withdrawn type they naturally suppress their instinctual drives, but their need to satisfy those drives leaves them imbalanced and uneasy. They are cursed to be unable to satisfy themselves, but they are gifted with the ability to suppress their needs. 9s are severely neutral when it comes to almost anything, and they often aren't aware of just how sensitive they are. They feel content as they numb themselves into a deep gray-like feeling and imaginative state. They are psychologically impenetrable, but if they numb themselves out too much their real world life may suffer. They are usually in denial about their sensitivity. 9s are Gut>Heart=Head. They are hyper-aware of instinctual drives, and they deal with shame and anxiety on a somewhat equal level.

Links to articles about it have been posted here before, but I'm too sleepy to find them now. Anyway it seemed quite interesting.
This has implications for trifix's as well that I didn't explain. E1, for example, will have a stronger heart fix than head fix. The primary types' other two fixations are roughly equal.
