I don't know how'd you explain this though... Si? Some would actually say Ti, but I see Ti as more of the picking-out-the-details-dickhead-thing that darkside described.

I generally argue in a way in which people can't tell I'm arguing. I ask them a lot of questions and ask them to reach a conclusion on their own based on the sum of their answers. If the issue involves another person, I paint a picture of that person's perspective of the situation and then continue with the aforementioned questions. I lead them to be the ones to build an argument against themselves. People generally don't become defensive unless it's a VERY sensitive subject for them. I don't mind upsetting people for the greater good, but I'm generally pretty good at avoiding that.

In a relationship I don't argue either... I don't do anything. The person I'm with will be able to tell that I'm unhappy, but I don't talk about it until I'm ready, if ever. Being ready means that I've regained control of my emotions.

Which is ironic because you can't stand when people do the same with yours. Is this an ENTp thing?

I wouldn't argue unless its very important to me and I have a lot to say. If that's the case, I blah out how I feel and how I see it and try to make them see it my way and agree with me. I don't nesscary point out their flaws as a person or in their arguements unless I have reached my last resort or is really mad about something. I usually argue if I'm being attacked or feel offended or uhm one of my values are being stepped on. Generally, I try to end it, sometimes I want to keep at it till they forfeit.

What am I saying: it's a dj thing. I could not possibly associate your pathetic argument style with any type and I hope nobody here will. This goes to illustrate the empirical limits of this forum. If only people would finally get it...

This does not mean it's not fun and somehow potentially meaningful, but the limitations, people, the limitations....

    Depends who I'm arguing with.

I want to know where this perception of ISTPs being stubborn comes from, really.

I've never argued with myself and it's hard to look at this objectively. But I'd say I argue fiercely and with emotional arguments, and then give up when things get too involved. Once I've said my peace I don't feel any obligation to continue or get the last word.

Most ISTps ARE stubborn, hence I view it as a typical trait of their type.

However, that statement was more of a hyperbole than anything else.

I'm told I'm stubborn, but when I say I don't care and don't the other person is right, they seem to be even more irritated

I'm told by everyone I know in person that I'm stubborn and hard-headed.

    Oh well.

It depends on who I'm talking to. I let NeFi determine what the other person is comfortable with. It also very much depends on how strongly I feel about the issue at hand.

    Ok, ISTPs are stubborn.

My point is then, where does it come from? Is it an Introverted quality? That's what I'm asking.

@Transigent: I've done that sometimes. It may be Te.

    Mine is like this.

    Person A: blah blah blah

FDG: No, blah A is wrong because of X, blah B is wrong because of Y, blah C is wrong because of Z.

Person A: But blah bluh bleh?

    FDG: You're dumb, I'm right.
