Default New Type Reps. for IEE -- Round 1

If you've not done so, please read this thread first.

In this poll, please select all the nominees that you think are not fit to represent the IEE type. This would include nominees that you don't think are IEE, as well as nominees that you agree are IEE, but you don't think are good representatives of the type for one reason or another.

Surely there has been some mistake in Ferris Bueller receiving so many votes. I would suggest resetting the votes for Ferris back to zero with a view to inserting FB into the literature with immediate effect.

    Save Ferris.

    I'm a life-long Bueller fan too, but...

You sure he's ? (And, if so, representatively so?)

Well... Broderick is probably EII to start with... Bueller the character is really I think a little bit too awesome to be representative of any particualr type, however... He relies on his personal connections and his ability to connect and understand the distances between others, he is undoubtedly and ethical type, it is I suppose a matter of perspective whether one sees Fi or Fe more strongly in him, however to me the focus is very NeFi, especially in his relations to Cameron, his observations and style of observation regarding his life and potential future, as symbolised by their mirroing of their parents actities through the day. His (what I perceive to be) Ne way of dealing with potential conflict situations... thinking on his feet, avoiding direct conflict, relying on his friends to help him out, whilst at the same time seeing his actions (seemingly genuinely) as character building for for his friends.
A general lack of respect for authority as displayed in the hotel and at school, is fairly typical and recorded IEE behaviour as is his benevolent manipulation of those around him. He is an Fi politician over Fe emotivist.
basically... It seems to me at least, that Fb is the perfect IEE, too perfect for any mortal to realistically aspire to, however it's good that he was written, so fineley portrayed and recorded for us to enjoy over and over.

Growing up, I must've watched it a dozen-plus times, but I never once picked up on that.

    Very deep.

Maybe it's that fictionalized "perfection" that kinda hangs me up on typing the guy. If the ultimate IEE, he's fully that and then some. (That "some" being bits and pieces of who knows how many strong/valued/whatever functions.)

Whatever the case, though, thanks for giving me something to watch tonight.

Well you don't exactly need a passing grade in Bullshit 101 to see it, but it does help.

I doubt "The Oracle", Tina Fey, Natalie Portman, Walt Disney and The Fresh Prince as IEEs. I don't really know about everyone else, although I wouldn't want "Patch Adams" as a type representative, or really any of these people.

I sort of thought the Ferris Bueller character was more consistent with SLE. The manipulation seemed more Se-driven imo.

IEEs might be scornful of authority figures sometimes, but it's more in the sense of the authority figure needing to earn their respect. Valuing of Fi (and Fi-ego) along with Ne seeing possibilities but never really being sure of the outcome often prevents overt troublemaking or breaking rules like that ime. Ferris Bueller's behavior was not delta at all.

I also thought Ferris Bueller's girlfriend was IEI.

I think he meant it was directed at DA because DA is criticising other peoples suggestions without yet providing any suggestions of her own. Which could therefore be regarded as non constructive criticism on DAs part.

haha wow this is a good in-depth analysis into Bueller my friend

btw I agree that he is a rather charismatic if not extreme portrayal of IEE and thus wouldn't expect the average one to relate to him, however he is one of the few well known examples of IEE I could think of, but he does personify, IMO, what I think of when I see >> in action

    Oh.

What threw me was the "which is not an easy task to do." Was pretty easy for me, actually. But now i see that he meant it's a difficult task to have Abs provide her own list.

    Thanks, dual, for explaining.

I don't know Anon's suggestions any better than the others. For IEE I could suggest Jon Arbuckle or Don Knotts.

    Oooooh! Even better!!!

I didnt' even come up with the typing (even though I agree with it). The deltans did as a group during the olympics last February! I forget who actually made the first suggestion--sorry i'm not giving credit where credit is due. There's a thread about it though somewhere in the Delta forum.

p.s. oh maybe you should insert "wild" before "red hair"--that'll be even MORE representative!
