Both an SLE friend and I really dislike scary movies (scary=horror). Is this at all type or quadra related? I have no use for them!

Fucking pussies. I love scary movies
i think the stereotype is that EIIs are bothered by depictions of violence and stuff, but i really like scary movies. i think they scare me more than they scare most people (but idk..when people say stuff like "saw was hilarious" i kind of don't believe them lol). but i like being scared.
i'm usually not really scared during the movie..it comes later, when i'm trying to sleep and my mind won't shut up. and that can be kind of annoying sometimes. but it doesn't stop me from watching them.
anyway, i don't think its type related.
I don't think it's type related, but I'm definitely too much of a pansy to enjoy horror movies. I suppose action/horror hybrids like Predator or Snakes on a Plane are fine, but otherwise I avoid them because I have no balls (not literally).

I don't like either category but am especially scared by the second category. I still sometimes think about Psycho when I'm in the shower and I watched that one a loooooong time ago.

I watch these movies squeezing the hand or arm of the person sitting next to me. Jumping up and down in my seat. Peeking through my fingers. Just being an overall nuisance. People tend to laugh at me, though.
I hate scary movies, they make me way too nervous. Plus, I tend to have bad dreams for days thereafter.

I love scary movies, especially watching them with people who find them genuinely scary. Mostly I find them entertaining.
Thriller movies probably scare me a little more, but I would still say they aren't so much scary as exciting.

I love scary movies. I'm kind of a scary movie critic. I hate when they're obvious and you know something going to jump out or whatever. I love the intensity. Saw is one of my favorite movie series, and I'm a big fan of zombie movies. If you like zombies and Cloverfield, watch quarantine. That was a pretty intense movie.
I haven't had bad dreams after a horror movie since I was 12.
This seems like a good way of separating the men from the boys.
i dont like them, they're boring.. but i do like watching really old, badly made scary movies that got rated 1/5 stars.. just to see how awful they are, it's kind of funny
and typically a lot of scary movies are "bad" and rated low
It really depends on the film. If it's well done like The Shining, The Ring, Friday 13th (original), Exorcist, etc, than I can get into it. They still disturb me, but I can appreciate them as good films. But overall it's not a genre I prefer.
I find that most horror flicks, especially the modern ones, tend to fall into "torture porn" where the entire focus is on the killings and everything else is disregarded.
In terms of how they affect me on a deeper level, I don't really get emotionally involved as much as I become more paranoid after seeing them (). I find death and fear in movies that are more reflective of reality to have a deeper effect on me emotionally (i.e Shindlers List)

I don't like horror flicks. I don't like tearjerkers either. I'd rather watch something exciting, that makes me feel good, pumped up or happy, or something that makes me think. Being scared or sad isn't much fun.
I only enjoy comedies but some horror movies prove to be good comedies. (Like "The Ring" where the horse jumps off the boat, lolwut.)
ILI (FINAL ANSWER)
I like anything that can get a reaction out of me. Fear, sadness, happiness, excitement, interest. Anything that keeps my attention. I hate movies that I can see through and fail at whatever they are attempting to do. Like horrors that aren't scary, comedies that aren't funny, or dramas that are unnatural. If movies are just terrible though, I can even enjoy those because I'll be so disgusted at them that it's funny.
I like comedies alot myself but I also enjoy drama. I like some action/adventure just as long as its not violence for its own sake kind of flicks. I'm not a big horror fan. I'm not afraid of watching horror flicks, I just prefer other things. But what I do like are the really poor quality B-movies because they're so poorly done, they're funny. Like the ones you find on Mystery Science Theatre.

I'd even take CSPAN over horror, though. Slashers freak me out, and torture porn makes me nauseous; but the bizarro ghost/occult stuff just drives me insane. When I'm all alone and it's dark and quiet, my mind stops rationally separating the real from the unreal. There's something about being "beyond comprehension" or "mysterious and unknowable" that makes the supernatural horror flicks way more harrowing that the loonie with a knife/chainsaw/hockey-stick next door.

I like watching scary movies. The Grudge used to really creep me out. Not as much any more but I wouldn't want to watch it on my own. Paranormal activity is creepy to me. I love Stephen King's Rose Red movie. I like The Descent, it's pretty scary at points but still somewhat believable. The Ring is somewhat scary but not too bad. I liked Quarantine in that is was scary but I think it was a bit too realistic seeming to me. When I left the theater I just felt bad, as if I had actually watched the events of the movie unfold in front of my own eyes. Me and my friends had to talk it out afterwards as we all felt kind of uneasy inside.

I love scary movies. Horror is actually my favorite film genre. They make me feel excited, especially if they have a psychological bent or the death scenes are particularly gruesome. I'm a sucker for slasher and splatter films, I love seeing the creative and unique ways in which people get killed.
I also don't quite "get" why people get so worked up about bloody and "gross" scenes in horror films - blood and guts exist within all of us, after all, so what's really all that disgusting about depicting them on screen?
I am definitely not into scary movies unless they havea really clever plot that leaves me guessing...but too much gore and im out of there. cant watch blood, guts and anything to do with stabbing in tendons or anything....:uke:uke::yuk yuk yuk!!
Im much more of a romantic comedy gal. or just plain comedy.
