If impressionist painting is Si then I'm retyping to EIE.

Very busy with work. Only kind of around.
I generally love expressionism, with the notable exception of Schiele, whose art I seem to detest.
Abstract expressionism is definitely something I love love love. It strikes a chord in me.
Here are two of my favourites (a big hats off to the Austrian influence in my taste in art, lol)

Thank you Dear Si's for being cozy, warm, and kind.
For providing the right balance of relaxation and "stimulation"; for the pleasure you take with me in enjoying good food, for feeding me when I'm hungary, for helping me correctly stay in tune with my inner sensations, both physically and with experiences with my outside environment. For helping me rest.
I love you.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I don't need impressionist paintings introduced to me, lol. They aggravate me.

ILI (FINAL ANSWER)
It's not so much feeling the picture, but the accuracy with what light does, the focus on aesthetics, and the nice, soothing scenes.
Monet is my personal deity
I always thought quantum physics was NiTe. Didn't Einstein fiercely resist it because of the whole uncertainty bizzo, or something?
Anyway, @Vero, this raises an interesting question. What does "art" mean to you? I mean, for me, I like impressionism but dislike abstract expressionism because one embodies what I think art is/should be, and the other violates that in every conceivable way (and subsequently makes me think it's base, crass, and stupid). I was wondering if it's a similar sort of deal for you, only in reverse; hence your strong negative opinion of impressionism.
The biggest known piece of Si
BTW, do you think Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock, etc is an Si/Ne thing?

To me art is a form of expression. Anything can be art so long as it communicates to someone in a way that they like it. It can be on the grounds of memory, aesthetic, emotional expression, intellectual expression or probably any number of other things.
The reason I hate impressionism is because it bothers me when I look at it. I dislike the kind of shaking, movement feeling of it. It makes me irritated and it makes me want to take a black permanent marker to it and just scribble on it. It's contained bordering on the edge of exploding for me and makes me feel the same way. I hate the frequently pastel palette used in impressionism. It's not aesthetically pleasing to me at all.
Basically I hate impressionism for the reasons you like it. It's sense of aesthetic is not mine. It's calm and soothing, which makes me feel irritated, restricted and confined.

People like what they like. For me, I kind of go for geometric abstract art. I think it's because it makes me nod to myself like, "Yeah, I could do that!"
interesting... I hate it too. but it's almost the opposite of what you said. I don't find it calm and soothing at all. it's jittery and irratating... also, it's like it any content is washed out and fuzzy to the point of just being noise. I just go "bleh" at impressionistic stuff, there's nothing there for me. (actually, the more that I pay attention to what you said, the more that I realize that we're getting the same feelings off of it and I'm just restating what you said. )
I don't mind Impressionism. It feels like someone tried to paint a real picture, and almost got there.
Quaero Veritas.
About this picture. I've been thinking about it since I am working in gardening at the moment. Gardening seems to attract a lot of Si creatives (especially ESTj) but perhaps even more Se egos. Not so much Si leading types.
I sometimes think that gardening is pointless, "unnatural" and too heavy work, and wild nature attracts me more, so why bother.
i know an ESE who has a garden, she lets the deer in our area eat some of it, and she uses the vegetables for her homemade food
and my SEI grandma used to bird watch, does that count as an Si leading activity?
and bower birds remind me of Si
I would say getting physically involved with a task is a very Si thing to do. But then again she might be right about her basic association as Si dominates seem to me more about 'things developing naturally' and her as non-Te valuer would see work-ethic as a negative attribute.
Si rage kill is alpha's most deadly weapon. ENxJs, beware.
Si rage kill?
Don't play dumb. You guys are latent killing machines.
I'm not playing dumb. There's all sorts of rageful/defiant behaviour I can manifest, but I wanted to know what in particular you were referring to with "Si rage kill"
Argh! Enough with the ambiguity
