My base function plays ping-pong with me when all the other functions are too busy.

Or what kind of answer are you looking for?

It is the only thing that guarantees the positive outcome. Everything else just freewheels and languishes and gets bogged down on trivial contingencies. Purposeful direction is not just what preserves the good in life; it is what defines it.

    "Why does the universe exist?"

For whatever reason, your brain picks it.

my particular base or people's base in general?

People's in general... idk, I think that for whatever reason your brain chooses that as the main way of looking at things.

My base... It helps me get clear picture of how reality works so that I can handle any situation in the real world effectively.

It's how you perceive the world.

And what outcome is that? If you were to define that outcome as an information element, what would it be? Which element are you most determined to positively influence?

It's connecting everything. It's indistinguishable as I can only perceived it using it. It's impossible to think without or outside of it.

If, however, what you mean is why Ni in particular is important in general, then I'd say it is so because as all elements it has its unique focus, which makes it indisposable.

All the other functions revolve around it.
