Reinin dichotomies --- typing with triples
There are 15 Reinin dichotomies. Every dichotomy can be derived from 7 pairs of 2 other dichotomies. Example:
aristocratic/democratic = carefree/farsighted*yielding/obstinate.
This means that a democratic type can either be <farsighted and obstinate> or <yielding and carefree>. That's a triple or small cycle...
Some Reinin triples are obviously useful not only for explaining behaviour but also for typing. Example:
If a person seems to be introverted and rational (s)he
1.) has to be static.
2.) has to belong to the IJ-temperament.
Those two ways of verifying the typing are probably better than thinking about introverted/extraverted and rational/irrational again and again. I really don't know why those triples are mentioned so rarely on this forum and not at all on wikisocion...
The temperament triple
introverted*rational*static = Balanced-stable
extraverted*irational*static = Flexible-maneuvering
introverted*irrational*dynamic = Receptive-adaptive
extraverted*rational*dynamic = Linear-insistent
The club triple
intuitive*logical*democratic = Researchers
sensing*ethical*democratic = Socials
intuitive*ethical*aristocratic = Humanitarians
sensing*logical*aristocratic = Pragmatists
The quadra triple
democratic*judicious*merry = Alpha
aristocratic*decisive*merry = Beta
democratic*decisive*serious = Gamma
aristocratic*judicious*serious = Delta
The thinking style triple
static*negativist*result = Holographic
dynamic*positivist*result = Vortex
static*positivist*process = Cause-effect

The romance style triple
static*intuitive*judicious = Infantile
dynamic*sensing*judicious = Caregiver
static*sensing*decisive = Aggressor
dynamic*intuitive*decisive = Victim
The communication style triple
extraverted*logical*yielding = Businesslike
introverted*ethical*yielding = Sincere
extraverted*ethical*obstinate = Passionate
introverted*logical*obstinate = Coldblooded

obstinate * static = emotivist
obstinate * strategic = asking
obstinate * judicious = result
static * introverted = rational
static * intuitive = judicious
static * logical = merry
static * democratic = asking
static * negativist = result
democratic * intuitive = logical
democratic * introverted = negativist
democratic * rational = result
democratic * strategic = emotivist
democratic * judicious = merry
strategic * intuitive = rational
strategic * introverted = judicious
strategic * logical = result
strategic * negativist = merry
emotivist * logical = rational
emotivist * introverted = merry
emotivist * intuitive = result
emotivist * negativist = judicious
merry * intuitive = asking
judicious * logical = asking
negativist * rational = asking

What about my favourite Reinin dichotomy, asking/declaring? Hasn't Victor Gulenko worked out any small groups about it...?

dynamic * democratic * declaring = Alpha SF / Gamma NT
Like to tell stories...
static * aristocratic * declaring = Beta ST / Delta NF
Prefer to explain issues...
merry * intuitive * asking = Alpha NT / Beta NF
Ask a lot of funny questions with allusions...
serious * sensing * asking = Gamma SF / Delta ST
Ask questions to get answers...
merry * sensing * declaring = Alpha SF / Beta ST
Like to tell a lot of funny stories or issues...
serious * intuitive * declaring = Gamma NT / Delta NF

judicious * ethical * declaring = Alpha SF / Delta NF
Offer funny or interesting information...
decisive * logical * declaring = Beta ST / Gamma NT

I like those, especially the last one. I think these tend to make sense.
I thought the dichotomies are really interesting. The two that I didn't think about before are democratic vs. aristocratic and asking vs. declaring. I definitely do group and label people and I monologue and hate to be interrupted. However, unlike merry vs. serious, I am not a believer in objective truths; I'm a nihilist.
I thought static vs. dynamic (I know, basic socionics concept, it still confuses me) and judicious vs. decisive were confusing, though.
Temperament, club, quadra and romance style are used quite often on this forum. Thinking style has been covered somewhat (Labcoat makes sure of that)... communication style also makes sense, though I'm pretty sure we use that already in some form ("extraverted feeler", "introverted thinker").
That answers your question as to why they are mentioned so rarely - they are used often, they just aren't referred to as "triples" very often.
