    Default Yoga

Type it. If you don't think it's type related, give the stereotypical function/function relation you think it is connected with.

I'm certain it has litle to do with T or F. Whether it's a relationship between N and S I dunno; perhaps it's solely to do with a sensing function.

I personally view it as a very Si oriented activity; to master one's body and has uncoordinated Ni egos stumbling over themselves. Se egos more focused on impact may just stretch fast, workout and be done and not have anything to do with this slow touchy-feely yoga thing. That's my own experience with it actually, and I despise it .

Probably not, but at the very least it's nice to have a function to identify it with.

I know at least two people who are VERY into yoga. One of them is LII and the other is EII. interesting. So... with them anyway there is definitely some Si-valuing going on.

I voted Si, but I think it really includes both forms of Pi. Gulenko describes it as "moving from Si to Ni" -- achieving harmony of mind by achieving harmony of body.

I think Yoga is silly and pointless. Therefore, it must be .

I think picture won't be very useful here. The wikipedia article of a can give you an overview. It's just a very easy way to relax and can be practiced by everyone without special knowledge. I use it to fall asleep and to reduce stress.

yoga is Si. everyone i know who is into yoga has Ne in the ego block. it's something you can actually do to bring the mind-body into better balance. i quite enjoy it when i am in the habit of practicing.

I really think it depends on what you are doing yoga for.

Like, if its for meditation -- that's probably Ni.

If it's for stretching and feeling physically good -- that's Si.

But yeah, i agree with yoga being Ni or Si centered. Which means, all quadras benefit!

Or a form of active prayer. The westernization of it (pop yoga, unproven, made up practices, basically spiritual mumbo-jumbo talk thats not part of the indian practice or mindset) is the annoying part. Westernization as in distilling of proven practices and techniques for usage is not what bothers me, unless its done without a context of its applied usage. Much like tai chi.
However theres many different branches of yoga but most of the ones offered here are relaxation combined with limited preventative physical practices. Basically whatever they can sell. So what I see done is an LIE's bullshit version of yoga to part you of your money quickest.

Yeah, the only (poor) experiences I've had with yoga is with instructors who have to cater to large amounts of people. They shout orders and whatnot and end up making me think I'm doing it wrong (I'm not learning here, but imitating) and end up hurting myself. If I were to look into and research traditional methods, I'm sure I could extract some satisfaction and relaxation so long as I am to be careful about it.

My LII friend practices it seriously (she does a form of it that's quite physically demanding and usually almost 2 hours per day) but consciously downplays the more spiritual side of it, just kind of using it for the physical and psychological benefits.
