    Default Argentina's economy-case in point

    Part 1

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."
    --Theodore Roosevelt

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
    -- Mark Twain

"Man who stand on hill with mouth open will wait long time for roast duck to drop in."
    -- Confucius

All the countries where the elite is of mediterranean descent are BY FAR the best at economic collapse / mega crisis. I can bet a German would never be able to consistently perform to our level.

Isn't the second world a clear case of the opposite? The germans had hyperinflation and emerged as one of the worlds dominant economic and industrial powers, powerful enough to invade europe.

I would say countries where the elite is of mediterranean descent are BY FAR the worst at economic collapse / mega crisis, never getting over it, never recovering fully, or taking forever to do it, burdened by a tradition of corruption and inefficiency, which is integrated into the very fabric of society, even in the best of times.

Yes, that's what I meant. It wasn't meant to have a positive spin, if not ironically. I would consider "best" as better qualifier, since it's not meant to be a race at "who's best at recovering from a collapse", merely "who's best at collapsing".
