    Default ILE and Me

Lately I've been interested in spotting fellow ENTps: I suspect both my logic teacher and a religion teacher that lives in my dorm of being ILE, as well as a recent acquaintence.

So what I'm really getting at here is this: what makes me ILE? What do you notice about me, or any other ENTp here on the board, that makes our type apparent to you? What are our trademarks? I know what to look for in other types, but to be honest, my own has always been a bit of a mystery to me; I suspect that I may have mistyped a few people as IEE or LII who are, in reality, ILE.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

FOR the last time, you are not ENTP, forget it.
Well I am back. How's everyone? Don't have as much time now, but glad to see some of the old gang are still here.

Anyway, Gilligan, you may be asking for a bigger response than you may realize. It might take a whole article section to explain what specifics makes a type a type. I have been wondering about this too. I'd know that I am ISTP, and the other people that share my type, but the question is what exactly is it that seperates us? Socionics isn't specific enough. God how true that is.

What am I, the architect? I don't know what you are. But we can find out.

    Give me these answers:

1-your fav movie of all time

2-your fav singer band of all time

3-your fav beautiful woman of all time

4-your fav sport of all time

5-your fav actor of all time

6-your fav song of all time

7-your dream job when you were a kid

For God's sake, an ENTP would never ask such questions in such a way.

My verdict is ESFP and I stake my left ball on this decision.

1-How much do you sleep? 6-8 hours

2-Your fav book of all time? - either Paradise Lost or The Lord of the Rings

3-Your fav philosopher of all time? - my views line up with Sextus Empiricus

4-Your fav musical instrument? - Violin

    5-your fav wine? - Merlot

6-Your fav suit color? - navy blue, to bring out my eyes.

7- Your fav classical composer? - Beethoven

8- Your feelings towards me at this moment? Wondering what these questions are telling you about my type, and what you're thinking right now

It seems to me clear that:

    1-You are not ENTp

    2-you seem gamma

3-You are not upset with me. AN ENTP would never bother to give accurate answers to these questions because knowledge per se does not interest them at all.

4-You claimed once that you could be ESFP. I will accept that until it makes no more sense to me.
Well I am back. How's everyone? Don't have as much time now, but glad to see some of the old gang are still here.

You should thank me. Your ISFP girlfriend is making you ENTP, going against nature and hence creating a inbalance that in time will bite her behind and perhaps more

V.I. wise, it's not easy for me to distinguish ILEs. I haven't found any recognizable charateristic, yet. The two I know, seem much more laid back than the greates majority of ESTps, which beam energy.

Upon first contact, however, I'll immediatly know that they're NTs. Their wit is clear, and I'm usually glad to be challenged. We usually share a lot of interests, and I like doing schoolwork with them, because they provide interesting perispectives, help in understand etc. However, problems arise when the discussions go in-depht: I'll start being pissed about their relativistic stance towards everything, and about their disregard for the people close to them coupled with an extreme regard for the people they don't know. I also usually feel like I'm being a bit taken advantage of - both the ones I know used to ask me to do their homework because they knew I don't refuse to do things for good friends. They usually try to put me down in public - I don't reply for 1,2,3, times, and then I start a devastating - rant which leaves them horribly bedazzled. Still, we're usually good friends, and we share the same NT-worldview, though there remains a strange psychological distance.

I usually like very, very, much ENTp professors/teachesr, except when they tease F students.

Well then. Explain how they actually have anything to do with determining someone's type.

    Don't leave out any details.
My father is ENTP, he would never say that Fight Club is his fav movie, even if it was

The question was: what is your FAVOURITE movie?, meaning that it is THE movie that you want us to associate with you, a part of your identity. An ENTP would never say that, its' impossible. Ask your friends whats their FAV movie, none of them will say Fight Club. That choice would be a LOGICAL IMPOSSIBILITY for an ENTP
Well I am back. How's everyone? Don't have as much time now, but glad to see some of the old gang are still here.

I have to make such strong statements in order to get my point across. However to believe your questioning it would have to be done under scientifcally sound conditions. ESTPs are great at making you say what they want you to

Movies are a time and and place specific variable. If we were in Africa I might ask about the kind of music that people prefer. In North America movies are one of the main vehicles of socialization, as Paris Hilton knws very well

WHAT TYPES OF ENTERTAINMENT ONE ENJOYS HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH TYPE. AT ALL.

When movies come out and hit the masses, there are obviously people from every type that like it, or else it wouldn't be a success at all. Therefore, whatever you've said about types not liking movies is entirely false.

You're treating this as if it's scientific, and there is nothing about popular entertainment that is scientific at all. Get over it.
No offense, and you know that I like you very much, but I am prety sure about some of these things.

Sooooooooo you going to tell us what types of movies ILE's enjoy or are you just getting a serious hard on by being a dick?

Since I am interested in your baseless assumptions I'm going to throw out there that my favorite movies are Godfather I and II, Ghostbusters, the Star Wars OT, and The Wizard of Oz.

    What you got on me?

I need one movie. The exact choice you make between those four is the crucial element in the discovery of your type.

Umm. But I have a connection to all of them. Well since I'm interested in what you going to say, I'm going to say Godfather II if I really try to narrow it down.

This is why I say that Giligan is not ENTP. You made a convenient choice when you had to, whether that is acurate or not. The quality of your work (choice in this case) suffered as a result. You are ENTP. Giligan took it very seriously and I believe he truly prefers Fight Club, but you could go either way. If he was ENTP he would have the same pattern of thought as you, but he doesn't. I am sure he is not ENTP and I hypothesise that he is ESFP instead.

Do you see what I am doing?

I am intrigued a bit. When I went through this thread and saw the seven question you asked gilligan87. I was thinking to myself hmm I would only be interested in answering questions 1 and 7 if it was asked of me. Not sure if that means anything, but I'm throwing it out there. Then. . .

3-You are not upset with me. AN ENTP would never bother to give accurate answers to these questions because knowledge per se does not interest them at all.
    That made me laugh actually.

I like this whole movie angle here, but are you looking at more how someone answers the question? Or are you looking at the choice and matching it with the values of quadra and then type?

Like my ex-girlfriend was INFp and we would get in arguements about movie preference all the time. She liked stuff that was violent or morbid, and even better if it had comedy(like dark comedies) to it. She liked stuff with lots of sound, action, and explosions too. I really hated her taste in movies to where I would just roll my eyes because I would never take the time to watch something over again to see what she liked in it (or bother to see it if I did not see it because I had no interest). The movies I liked bored her, and when I explained certain aspects of why I liked the movie she would get irriated herself.
