(If I remember correctly, Gilly thought Ivey was ISTp or something like that, when we discussed some poker players briefly in another thread some time ago.)
Heh well after seeing him for only few minutes my told that he is INTp, nothing more trusty than that

But if observed more closely. His behaviour and expressions are almost a caricature of INTp, when he plays and is interviewed. Like hanging jaw, body posture, movements, how his head is tilted downwards etc. Plus the information what other players have said of him, and information about his personal life.

Anyway VI is the only way to go. Because trying to type people who the person trying type doesn't even know, just based on random information about the person is often somewhat ridicilous. Especially since lot of people doesn't seem even type themselves right.

I could be wrong. Since none of us know him, we can't be sure about his personality. There isn't much information about his personality, especially since he seems to lie a lot about himself (wich implies more INTp than ENTj). But I'm under impression that he's more introverted in his private life, than what he appears to be in his work. In his movie Private Parts, if I remember correctly he seems more like an INTp in the part that tells about his early life. What his radio personality is like, could easily be result of INTp having to extrovert himself, bunch of PoLR jokes.

Anyway he looks most like an INTp. In lot of pictures of him, he doesn't seem to smile. I find it very unusual for extroverts to look grumpy in red carpet type of settings.

But I could be wrong, and he could be ENTj.

I am almost certain Jim Morrison is INTp, from his pictures and his writings. He was obsessed with method, in writing poetry and music. He also had a pretty weird fashion sense

If you know what makes someone a certain type, you can still type others by that criteria even if you don't know yourself well enough to judge your own type.

What about John Nash? He was portrayed as INTp-like in Beautiful Mind.

(Of course, if you think that all good ideas in academic topics come from Alpha types, then you'll create a self-fulfilling prophecy in your typings that only Alpha types could be successful there.)

I'm pretty sure the author Annie Dillard is INTp. I just finished her new novel The Maytrees. Wow. She's not exactly in academia though.

From what little I have read about her, as well as what is presented in her book For the Time Being, I am not so sure about that.

You mean she's not INTp? okay so what do you think she is? Her books (and I have read most of them) seamlessly move backward and forward through time. She's a self-proclaimed recluse and is constantly talking about facts of natural science. It seems like the emotion is largely held back through her telling of the stories from various protangonists. Do you think she's INTj?

No, not necessarily. Delta NF with Alpha NT being the next possibility. Her books are much in the spirit of Thoreau and Emerson and her ability to include other paradigms of ideology points to , which is why I say Delta NF or Alpha NT.

I was pretty sure since he reminded me of Crispin Glover. Also his monotonous voice makes me think Te creative. Pretty sure he has an Ixxp temperament.

Not entirely sure about this one: Michael Gothard

Just saw him do pretty intense role as a witchfinder in The Devils.

Was also a Bond villain, never married, was depressed, hanged himself... the usual. Anyway looks lot like a guy who was on the same class as me in high school.

Could be. He gave me the impression that he's low energy. Example of EP that Ive come across so far seem to give off energy like Dustin Hoffman or Jamie Lee Curtis, they look more comfortable in their skin if that makes sense. More gesture-ish too. Bill just seems more low key which pointed me toward introversion.

I don't see how one can gauge a type from that video other than from the conclusions that the tenant is unattentive enough to forget closing the windows and that he keeps a fairly tidy room with sufficient decorations.
