People create 'theories' all the time - it would be impossible to live otherwise, unless you had your own guardian.
On the otherhand, most people don't spend most of the energy and resources on some grand theory that seems pointless, ineffective, and possibly incorrect either.
Because I heard it somewhere and it fits with the other things I've heard from somewhere else.
