Default Strategem for the Advancement of Socionics

Presented is a two pronged strategy for the emergence of socionics into the scientific mainstream. The strategy calls for the creation of two teams A (for advance) and B.

    ADVANCE TEAM

The A-Team is a lose confederation of psychology professionals who share the common aim of establishing socionics as a credible branch of psychology. The chief purpose of A-Team is to use federal grant moneys and charitable donations (possibly also commercial side ventures) to conduct research which affirms theories created by the B-Team.

    B-TEAM

B-Team is the development arm of socionics. B-Team consists of all people who have an interest in socionics, including A-Team itself. The primary task of B-team is to submit articles to socionics journals, and in general to increase and refine the scope of socionics knowledge.

    CURRENT STATUS

Most of the more knowledgeable people in the community are included in B-Team. A-Team consists of every socionist who has a baccalaureate in psychology and is doing research to prove the theory using empirical methods. As such, A-Team is basically non-existent, aside from surveys and samples.

According to Gulenko, Boukalov controls the system by which one obtains certification as a socionist. What we need to do is get in touch with Boukalov, as a group, and inform him that we are interesting in obtaining baccalaureate degrees in socionics. This will allow us to submit papers for his review.

I'm on my own team. Team So-So-Mongrel. We're having a barbeque and a game/hangout tomorrow night and discussing socionics and its impractical nonsensical application (that is, if anyone wants to come.) Two tickets left!

I'm dualized now, with an ESE alter ego, so I'll need that other ticket.

It would definitely be an interesting and valuable thing to establish closer relations with the Russian socionics community, including in a formal capacity like that. I'm more interested in pure research than in the sort of "evangelism" you're talking about, but yeah. I'd love to sit down and talk with those guys some day.

Do any of them even speak English?

I don't think so, but Russian isn't difficult to learn.

Socionics will not be "mainstream" in the west during our lifetime. Currently it is not even "scientific" in Russia or Ukraine. "Scientific mainstream" is something socionics will never have anything to do with...

Really? I expect it will be fairly widely known in the psychology community in the next 40 or so years, although there will probably be debate about its validity.

The thing about the Truth, as far as memes go, is that it will eventually and inevitably propagate among people who actually care about the truth, and from them to everyone else. It can be delayed if there are political factors hindering it, but I don't see any particular political factors that would be in play here, other than the usual resistance to change.

It can't be as difficult as learning English, with all its irregularities.

I heard that English is one of the most difficult languages to learn aside from Mandarian Chinese.

Ask me about this again in a few years when I'm writing my psychology thesis. Right now I'm busy procrastinating on a lab report based upon the paradox of choice. Also I'm not the biggest advocate of socionics. Are you pushing for this to become a commonly recognised theory in Psychology because you honestly believe in it, or because you have vested interest in it with the amount of time and effort you've already put in?

It's a little hard to take seriously when joke threads about the sexuality of members, threads simply titled, for example, "Fuck" appear rather regularly and when some of you do things such as compare socionics alongside theories of astrology and the like....

I appreciate Jung's work in the field, but I'm just not so sure about this interpretation of his work.

Socionics could be applied to a wide range of fields, not only to Psychology: the possibilities are endless, every field in which there are people involved can be enhanced with Socionics.

BTW, most of the English-speaking Spaniards I know IRL are intuitives.

In my opinion, English is the easiest language to learn: no declension, no plurals, etc etc. Take a Russian book and you'll see how funny it is

Michael Jackson would have developed an interest in this!
