    Default Fire Emblem (GBA)

Fire Emblem and Suikoden together constitute a treasure trove of VI. Enough characters are featured that I am quite persuaded that every EM variant of every type is represented.

I see this endeavor as the first step to building a truly massive and representative VI database. The existence of such a database would change socionics as we know it and the public's reception to it.

Was this the Fire Emblem with Lyn in it? What type do you reckon she was? She and the knight who was always hitting on all the girls were my favourite characters.

I mean you no offense, but more than likely not for the better. The source material is already kind of niche, and with some negative stigmas attached. I was going to say something else too, but my ability to concentrate right now is--ooh, animated gifs!

    EDIT

What do you think about SEE for Sain? He's kind of a charmer, tends to neglect details (tutorial level where he doesn't even have his gear with him, lol), total joker; and some other stuff that I've forgotten about. Kent was his companion, yes? What about him?

That's what I was thinking... SEE sounds rather accurate.

The negative stigmas will not endure.

Oh, and I wouldn't try too hard to type Bramimond.

I'm going to include the FE 6 characters, too. And probably the FE: Mystery of the Emblem cast as well.

Mystery of the Emblem is too styled. Doing Thracia 776 instead.

Got 120 characters on the list so far... adding another 70....

The best way to figure Marth's type is to look for tale tale signs of conflict which indicate functional values.

He's definitely not LII, that's for sure.

    Here's Lyn.

Notice she's in control. No over emotionality, just a hint of such. She's trying to appear friendly, thus she projects a light smile.

I'm not sure if she's LSI or SLI, but it's one of those two.

    Kent is S, I think.

Lyn is difficult to read because she is very humble. She tries to rely on others' functions as much as her own. I think the reason for either, is that she has a tendency to take on people and things who are "bigger" than her. This because she can neither stand to let a wrong go unrighted nor permit that a righted wrong be committed again. Which means she has to put herself in the cross hairs of the entrenched status quo. Against such odds misjudgment is not acceptable, hence her instinct to rely on others' information processing. She simply cannot afford to be wrong.

    Now here's an interesting scene.

At 7:14, Lyn allows the player to make a decision on her behalf. In her view, the decision is characterized by a conflict of the heart vs the head (T vs F). She prefers F. Maybe I'm missing something, and she's an EIE....

Here's a series of conversations between Lyn and Hector.

She deeply feels that she has something to prove.

    Another:

Cod thinks ESI is a possibility.

It's down to these five for Lyn:
    - ESI
    - SEE
    - EIE
    - SLI
    - LSI

    - She's not LII because she's not analytical enough.
    - She's not LIE because she's quite aimless in how she goes about things. (and not ILI for the same reason)
    - She's not ILE because she's not inquisitive enough.
    - She's not ESE because she's doesn't have as much self awareness as an ESE has.
    - She could be EIE because she's emotional, and puts a premium on strength.
    - She could be LSI because she wants to be strong (??)
    - She's not EII because she's pretty ignorant of motivations.
    - She's not IEE because she's initially dismissive of others' abilities.
    - She could be SLI because she appreciates the usefulness of others once abilities are pointed out to her.
    - She's not's SEI because she doesn't seem to care.
    - She could be SEE because she is somewhat reactive (?)
    - She could be ESI because she has strong convictions (?)
    - She's not SLE because she doesn't seem that focused on figuring out how to win. Whether she wins or not, she leaves mostly to a sense of destiny/fate.
    - She's not IEI because she's not empathic enough.

I'm actually leaning towards LSI-Se, simply because she seems to be trying not to discover strength (as an EIE would), but to create it, as a dominant LSI would try to do.

Addendum: the reason she's not SLI is because she takes a very happenstance attitude towards teamwork. SLI eagerly assembles teams and organizations to keep things humming along and, especially, to move towards their all important goals. SLIs are willing to compel people to join their team, often by holding something over their heads.... LSIs look at cooperation as a private decision made by individuals on their own terms, to be initiated and ended at their will. (the free enterprise system is essentially an LSI philosophy).

Is the reason for us being able to VI fiction that the mind's eye of the authors and artists carry socionics within it? Or are we not taking the facial structure in account when we VI fiction?
EDIT: Never mind I realized that people base such characters on IRL people most of the time.

It's a mix of both. As a strong Ne type, I can visualize characters I've never seen before in a flash. However I think my subconscious creates that from a hidden knowledge base that it creates in the background of my mind. The subconscious definitely pics up something because I can stylize these characters in any art style I've been exposed to.

Sometimes characters are based on real life people, yes. If you were going for authenticity, this is how you would do it.

Next up is the primary protagonist, Eliwood.

In the game you can tell he's ENF easily enough; the j/p matter is sorta ambiguous. But in the above pic, he is very obviously IEE, as you can tell from his "goofy" jaw, a defining physiognomic trait of IEE-Ne.

I don't think I understand the following scene completely. Anyone care to interpret it?

Eliwood reminds me a lot of Rick in his mannerisms. This also influences my IEE typing of him. (IEE Ds tend to be very formal folk)

    Eliwood is definitely
    - more N than S (notice the untrained eyes)
    - more F than T (springing into action against the dragon without a second thought; having to have the situation pointed out to him by Nergal (a T))
    - E (he's never seen alone throughout the entire game, nor do I recall him developing an independent conclusion of his own throughout the entire script)
    - more P than J (he mostly echoes others' recommendations, without raising points of his own)
