Default 16 volume socionic book set

A socionics book for every socionics type. Each book is written by representatives of a particular socionics type to make it easier to grasp the essence of the type. So a book on LIIs is written by LIIs; a book on SEEs is written by SEEs (this may be difficult), etc. Also people would probably find writing from their identicals to be more appealing.

So what would each of these 16 books look like? What content would they contain? How would they be structured?

If I were to write an LII book:

It would probably emphasise the theory more than practice but there would be some practical things in there, like sections on how to recognize LIIs in everyday life and which relations are the most and least ideal for LIIs. To keep it from being overly dry and technical, which LIIs are prone to do, there would be humor and real life stories. Still, there would be an overall emphasis on substance over style.

    Contents:

Chapter 1................. Model A and the LII

Looks at the 8 functions in the LII and their positions and how each manifests itself. I'd collect some anecdotes from real LIIs so there were real life examples.

    Chapter 2................ LII's and relationships

Each of the 16 relationship types is discussed, so you better know how LIIs relate to every other type. Tips for how to cope with each of the 16 relationship types is included.

Chapter 3 ................. Identification of LIIs

Includes sections on VI and videotyping of LIIs and speech patterns of LIIs. Pictures of famous LIIs and links to videoclips are provided as a reference point. And perhaps most importantly, how to tell apart an LII from an ILI, since they are often confused for one another.

    Chapter 4 ................. A Closer Look

Some of the more advanced concepts are illustrated here, including some of the alternative theories. This will be a more theory-heavy section and is considered optional reading. Descriptions of DCNH subtypes for LIIs, as well as each of the dual type combinations are here.

Both Wikisocion and the Socionics Workshop have something to this effect.

I think the SEI book would probably be a short picture book. "What it's like to be an SEI: My world in watercolours".

The main problem would be figuring out the person's type, to know which book to give them. So maybe you'd need a short 17th volume, filled with tests and advice to help you figure out your type.

So if you want to get started on this, go ahead.

Socionics needs to be transmitted like spiritual knowledge.

The more that is written, the more it's going to cloud people's minds. This is how I feel now-a-days.

The writing is good, and it helps, gives a place to start, but it is incomplete, and misleading, especially to a novice or someone who is not focused on understanding it in and of itself, someone who comes to it with other motives or a full cup, or someone who's mind is tainted.

I think warrior-librarian was more getting at something similar to the type domains, which I think is worthwhile, as opposed to producing more Socionics Literature, which I do not think is worthwhile.

What does the socionics workshop have to this effect? I was aware of type domains, but I didn't know the socionics workshop had a similar project.

I sort of agree with this though. Socionics is SO complex, you really have to absorb all sort of perspectives and discuss discuss discuss to get an accurate understanding (not even sure i'm completely there yet, but getting there. . .).

Still though, it would be nice to have an actual detailed resource to refer to.

I wonder what my conflictor would produce?

It would probably be more stylized than mine with less actual socionics substance. I'd probably get the impression socionics wasn't really discussed at all. Flashy photographs, sexy celebrity photos, subjective impressions of each type opposed to objective descriptions. Unstructured writing, without regards to logical consistency. Randomly jumps from one thing to another. The theory almost completely ignored for the practice.

One of the problems in socionics is that a good half the types generally aren't disposed to write descriptions.

The book would be more complete if there was a section written by that type's dual and one by its conflictor.

    Are you joking?!

What socionics needs the most is professional literature. Currently there are only 2 English books about socionics available and both are not really professional.

1.) There are not 16 but 256 intertype relationships that have to be described, 16 for every of the 16 types.
2.) If we work with 16 subtypes 256 types have to be described.
3.) Sooner or later the intertype relationships between all 256 subtypes will be described: 256*256 = 65,536 articles to write.

A lot of work to do, a lot of literature to come
