Default What do you LIKE about your dual?

So, remember when this forum was all "Iwanttofindmydualandtheneverythinginmylifewillbep erfectsoyay"? And then everybody was all downer and like, "dude, you know finding your dual isn't going to suddenly make life more magical and perfect and heaven, right?" And then people listened to the downers and were like, "yeah, I guess you're right. Too bad socionics can't solve everything."

Well you're wrong. Socionics CAN solve everything. Finding your dual WILL fix your life. By itself. No self-improvement needed. Just a dual.

Wax poetic about your duals. Go.
Not a rule, just a trend.

IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.

    Yes 'a ma'am that's pretty music...

I am grateful for the mystery of the soul, because without it, there could be no contemplation, except of the mysteries of divinity, which are far more dangerous to get wrong.

When I'm angry they know why.

When I'm vulgar, they roll their eyes but don't care at all deep down.

When I suggest something, they listen and appreciate it.

When I try to be nice, they recognize and appreciate it.

They notice if I am bored and often have undemanding suggestions about simple, fun things to do.

They have no problem with my limited ability to tolerate large social settings with lots of people unless there is a clear reason for me to be there other than to "have a good time."

They like having sex a lot and aren't weird and/or moody about it. (Not type-related, but still.)

They don't require me to impress them. Rather, they are naturally in tune to what makes me unique and are able to appreciate it without any effort from me.

They can listen to me rant without being the least bit intimidated. Ideally, they would find it somewhat cute rather than be awed by it. This is because I resent people who make me feel superior to them.

For my string of mostly NTR material:

They tell me what they don't like about and let me know where I stand with them, as opposed to the alternative. Openness about how they feel about anything is a plus.

They don't get nervous about defying social norms when it's more convenient to not adhere to them. They're receptive to all kinds of humor as long as it's legitimately funny.

The understand that a hug is more than just a greeting given between close friends and family.

They don't have a problem sharing who they are or what makes them happy.

I don't even know what I like about SLEs any more. They're right all the time. That's annoying. The women are like so fucking sexy, which is really cool, but kind of messes up my shit. It's sort of overwhelming. Their capacity to be 400x more impressive and more effective than me is really entertaining and interesting. I suppose. They think I'm smart rather than weird, that part is cool. But yeah, mostly they're annoying because they tend to force me to like be better and frown at me when I say something stupid as if to say, "really? you really think that? even though you know it's wrong?" I would prefer to learn other people's social customs right now, thanks.

But for real, SLEs are super cool because they're good to talk to. They're cooler than me yet they still find me worthwhile. That's flattering. They help me get stuff done, although lately I've been missing being still. They make offensive jokes, which is wonderful. So they tend to be pretty cool peeps.

They are my social sword and shield.

They help me understand people, and will take care of all of my questioning of peoples intentions.

They forgive my insensitivity and only take things personally when I intended them to.

They inspire me to keep going.

They keep me connected to people.

They are totally devoted, and I can trust them completely.

-Cheers me up with their big 'ol smile and warmth.
-Inspires me to be kind to everyone.
-Remembers the little things you do and acknowledges those things.
-Brings me out of my shell in groups (often by making fun of me)

I find that EIEs are often really flaky and unreliable.

I know! I was about to say that. On the other hand, not every EIE likes having sex a lot and isn't weird about it. lol. I'm sure plenty are weird about it.

huh. I wonder if that's a general beta ST (or a general beta) thing, or more specific to certain people or a certain dual dyad (SLE/IEI).

What I wrote wasn't really with any particular type in mind. It was more a list of idealized traits that I would want in my "dream dual."

They get my sense of humor.

    They're never overbearing.

    They enjoy my company.

They pass on good moods to others and hide bad moods.

They're not hard to find. (SEEs are everywhere...until you want one.)

i like how they spontaneously touch and grab things/people they're curious about/interested in. i like how they can tell me what to do and why in a short ingenious sentence that absolves me of my indecisiveness. i like how they often say exactly what i am thinking at the time, in a better than i could have said it anyway. i like how they are blunt and direct. i like how they make jokes that no one but me continuously laughs at. i like how they answer all my questions and don't mind doing so. i like how even when we don't notice each other at first, we grow on each other over time.

I have my own theory on that. I believe sin nature relates to PoLR and that people without a sin nature would be equally good at all functions, though thinking styles and methods would still be related to type.

Oh come on. So Ne-PoLR's sins originate from Ne, right? If so, then my bullshit radar had just caught up on something. Might it be that it's a false alert?

Isn't sin more about misusing your powers? Aren't your strong functions more powerful than your weak functions?

On a first glance; the only way how your weak functions might be responsible for your sins might be due to feelings of despair 'n' spite 'n' hurtfulness originating from your incompetence at your weak functions so you decide to revenge yourself to the crude world of objects who dared to ridicule your usage of your weak functions, but you; you choose to revenge yourself using your strong functions because that's more efficient. No one really likes inefficient solutions.

No, no. I think PoLR comes from sins, not vice versa.

Christian theology is a far more effective and accurate method of explaining reality than socionics. Therefore, applying socionics to theology will invariably be ineffective. It's applying a weaker system to a stronger one. It's like using a blurry magnifying glass to look down into a microscope. If anything, you use theology to explain socionics.

That said, yes, there are some places where socionics raises general questions that relate to Christianity, such as "how can you have personality/psychological differences in heaven?" "Can people still get along better or worse with certain people in heaven?" "To what extent does personality exist in heaven, and how?" Stuff like that. Note that "in heaven" could really be replaced with "in an ideal state."
