This is the beginning of hard rock and heavy metal, in my opinion. At least in terms of melodies and textures.
The music starts at 0:40. You first hear a "germ" - a small melodic unit only a bar long, which Bach then changes the direction and pitch of to make a theme about four bars long. This is actually not unlike how rock musicians will come up with a riff, expand it a little and then manipulate it. (But this is quite a different way of building music to what you would find in Classical period music proper e.g. Mozart where music is instead created from a variety of ideas, for contrast, most of which are not developed that much)
Anyway, you will begin to get an idea of why I've consciously made this connection from 1:33, and there are some passages that seem pretty heavy at 3:05 and 5:11. All of the intertwining episodes and rittonellos from 3:05 really feel like one long riff, and that is just the first movement. I like this piece a lot so I thought I'd bother to analyze it, in the off chance that somebody might actually listen to it lol.
